The site Engineer in charge of the ongoing construction of Issele-Uku Market Road/Ogbuefe Nnamdi Mohayam Street Road, Engr Maxwell has assured that the ongoing construction of the road will be delivered fully before December 24, 2023.
He said the project, which was attracted by the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, could not be completed in the month of September as envisaged due basically to extensive rain that Month.
He however said despite the mysterious burning down of their asphalt truck on site last week when they were preparing for priming of the Stone Base on the road, they are determined to deliver on the road on or before 24th of December as Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu’s Christmas Gift to the People of Issele-Uku.
He revealed the concern of Elumelu on the road and said he remains a great Man with uncommon passion for the people, saying that through the effort of the immediate past Minority Leader, everything needed for the completion of the project was made available.
At the site on Thursday, December 21, truckloads of asphalt were on standby and workers were busy with the asphalt lying of the road with over eighty percent already done.
The site Engineer maintained that if not for the fact that they are not equipped for night work, they would have been sure of completing the project on the 22nd.
“We will work tomorrow the 22nd and 23rd. On the 24th we will finalize the work and deliver it that day,” he assured.
He however said with the completion of the project on the 24th, they will commence with the installation and connection of the water pipes excavated as a result of the road construction and said all arrangements have been made for effective and efficient repairs on the water pipelines.
He appreciated the people of Issele-Uku for their show of love and cooperation throughout the duration of the project, even as he commended the Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu for all his efforts towards ensuring the completion of the project on time according to specifications.
