Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu has reacted over the judgment of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which nullified the election of Ngozi Lawrence Okolie of the Labour Party and declared him Winner.
Elumelu commended the Judiciary for the courage in upholding justice and described the judgement as victory for democracy, Rule of law and the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal.
He maintained that the judgment has further reaffirmed that the judiciary is the last hope for the common man who feels aggrieved and followed due judicial process of asking for redress.
Elumelu appreciated the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the wife, the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, who he noted set the ground running and supported him immensely.
He also appreciated the former Vice-president and Presidential candidate of the PDP in the last Presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his supporters as well as the media for their roles in the quest for justice on the matter.
Hon Elumelu also commended Ngozi Lawrence Okolie for the way he comported himself throughout the period of the sitting of the tribunal and urged Okolie to join hands with him to move the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency forward.
Former Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu in her reaction expressed her best wishes to Elumelu, the PDP and the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
While commending the Judgment of the tribunal and describing it as an act of God, Chief Okwuofu urged Elumelu to continue to put God first in all his doings, saying that with God leading him, he can never go astray.
Others who reacted to the Judgment included, Chief Chris Agbobu, Chief Patrick Ukah, Hon. Austin Chikezie, Chief Edwin Uzor, Chief Emma Chinye, Mr Olisa Ifeajika and Chief Dada Okonji who spoke on behalf of the four Chairmen of the PDP in the four Local Government Areas in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
They all congratulated Elumelu for his victory at the Tribunal and called on the people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency to remain steadfast in rallying round Hon Elumelu as he continues with his effective representation in the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, immediately after the judgment of the Tribunal was at the St. Michael Catholic Church, Onicha-Uku where a Thanksgiving Mass was held in his honour.
In his homily, the Parish Priest described Ndudi Elumelu as a man of great faith who has the spirit of appreciation, noting that his great faith in God was expressed in the judgment of the Tribunal.
While congratulating him on his victory at the Tribunal, the Man of God admonished him not to take the grace of God upon his life for granted.
With him at the Thanksgiving Mass were a massive crowd of supporters and well wishes that included, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, Barrister Andrew Odum, SAN, Chief Patrick Ukah, Hon. Austin Chikezie, Chief Emma Chinye, Mr. Olise Ifeajika, Hon. Kevin Okwechime, Hon Daniel Odinigwe Odigie, and Chairmen of the PDP from the Four Local Government Areas in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
