Training, Retraining of Staff, Catalyst For Quality Service Delivery In Any Organisation – Oborevwori …..As  DTHA Organises Capacity Training Workshop For Assembly Staff

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, and Governor-Elect of the State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has reinstated the place of staff training, and retraining for the success of any Organisation.

The Speaker, who was represented by Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor stated this during the opening of a 3-Days Capacity Building Workshop for the staff of the Assembly in GL3-10, with a theme: “Standing out, Making the Right Impact and Securing Our Future”, on Wednesday, April 12, at Hotel Benezia the venue of the workshop.

He stated that it had been the policy of the leadership and management of the State Assembly to engage the workers in constant training to boost their work ethics and capacity. He pointed out that the theme for the workshop is both intellectually stimulating and very profound.

“I dare to say that the theme of this workshop is not only intellectually stimulating but also very profound. I could not have thought of a better title.”

“As a policy thrust of the House to build a virile, effective and efficient workforce in the State Assembly, the leadership of the Delta State House of Assembly has made training and retraining of staff a priority for quality service delivery since the inception of the Seventh Assembly.”

“We have been faithful to this commitment and God willing, we will sustain it till our last day in office. This is because training and retraining of staff is a catalyst for quality service delivery in any organisation.”

The Speaker, however, called on the staff to make use of every knowledge that will be gained during the training for the advancement of the State House of Assembly, as it will not only equip them with only office work but also manage their health and wellbeing.

“As you commence this capacity-building programme, I enjoin you all to give it the attention it deserves to justify the huge investment in this workshop because, to whom much is given, much is also expected. This workshop will not only equip you with new skill sets and be effective in your assigned duties but also create awareness in managing your health and well-being in the office.”

“This training is, therefore, another opportunity for you to develop your skills and learn the right attitude in the discharge of your duties. As we all know, competence and a positive attitude in an organisation are sine qua non to efficient and effective service delivery.”

“We are hopeful and expect a higher level of performance in your duties after this training programme.” He said.

In her welcome address, the Clerk, Mrs Lynda Ocholor thanked the Speaker, and Leadership of the Assembly for approving the course for the selected cadre of staff, stating that she expects the input of the staff to increase after the workshop.

The workshop is to run from Wednesday 12 April 2023 to Friday, April 14, 2023, and has an objective to further equip the participants with relevant information, tools and issues that enhances their effectiveness and efficiency in the House, which is a continuation of the 2021 capacity building session, amongst others.
