Renowned Political Leader in Delta State and Member of the State Elder and Advisory Council, Dame Nkem Okwuofu has expressed Joy and appreciation to God for the Supreme Court Judgment that affirmed Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori as the Governor of the State.
Okwuofu in a statement on Friday, said her joy knows no bounds on the news of the victory of the Governor at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on Friday, affirmed the election victory of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the Governor of Delta State.
In a unanimous judgement, a five – member panel of the apex court led by Justice Inyang Okoro, dismissed an appeal by the All Progressive Congress, APC, and it’s candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege filed to challenge the outcome of the Governorship election that was held in the state on March 18, 2023.
Okwuofu described the Supreme Court Judgment as an excellent dispensation of Justice and said the Mandate graciously given to the Governor by the people of Delta State has once again been vindicated.
“The Lord God Almighty has done it again. He did it before and He has done it again. The Supreme Court which remains the highest Court in the Land has spoken and that is final. We sincerely appreciate the Lord God Almighty and commend the Justices of the Supreme Court for bringing this matter to an end by their unanimous judgement,” Okwuofu said.
The immediate past Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, congratulated the Governor and said, with the Supreme Court judgment, all forms of unwarranted distractions have been removed in the governance of the state.
While also congratulating the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on the Victory, Dame Nkem Okwuofu felicitated the Peoples Democratic Party in the State and Deltans as whole, saying that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State will continue to be grateful to Deltans for their support and cooperation.
Okwuofu prayed for a more United, Peaceful and Prosperous Delta State and called on Leaders and the People of the State to be relentless in their support for the laudable objectives of the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in the State.
