In his avid determination to rid Oshimili North Local Government area, Delta State of criminal elements, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Louis Ndukwe has presented a sienna bus to the Ibuzo Community.
Hon. Ndukwe officially presented the vehicle on Saturday 13th June, 2020 at the Palace of the Ibuzo of Ibuzo in a brief, but impressive ceremony witnessed by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Uche Esenwa, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Hilary Nwaokolo, Treasurer of the Local Government, Deacon Benjamin Nwajei, the Commander of the Ibuzo Community Police, Pastor Ifeanyi Joseph as well as men of the Vigilante Group
It will be recalled that the Council boss, on behalf of the Oshimili North Local Government, had earlier donated 4 sienna buses to four communities in the area; Illah, Ukala Okpuno,, Akwukwu-Igbo and Ebu as well as yet another 4 to the Divisional Police Office at Akwukwu-Igbo, the administrative headquarters of the Local Government Area, thereby bringing the total number of security vehicles given out by the Council to nine (9).
Presenting the vehicle to the Ibuzo Community Police, Hon. Louis Ndukwe revealed that the vehicle was part of what will come to the community from the Oshimili North Local Government to help in the fight against crime, noting that Ibuzo being the biggest community in the Council area has a bigger security responsibility.
“We do hope to double this before the end of this tenure. That is not just it, it will be supported by a couple of motorcycles to enable you move into the nook and cranny of Ibuzo Community,” the Council Chairman stated.
While praying that the Lord God Almighty will strengthen and abide with members of the vigilante group as they use the vehicle to track down criminal elements in the society, Hon Ndukwe commended the entire security apparatus in the Area for their efforts so far in the fight against criminality, pledging that the Local Government, in no distant time, will present another 3 sienna buses to Ugbolu, Okpanam and Atuma-Iga being the only communities yet to be presented with the security vehicles.
“My message to my people is that there is hope. We are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Only today the Ibuzo Community Police, we just got the report that they caught some persons, part of those who snatches Motorcycles at gunpoint in Ibuzo; it is a way up and with this Vehicle coming in, it will aid their movement and response to calls.
“Let me inform all the Communities that we have not presented with the security vehicle, they should hold me by my words, that before the end of this tenure every community in Oshimili North would have had this signature Vehicle. It is my vision and it will surely come to pass in Jesus Name,” Hon. Ndukwe assured.
Receiving the donated vehicle on behalf of the Ibuzo Community, the Commander of the Ibuzo Community Police, Pastor Ifeanyi Joseph expressed the joy and appreciation of the Community to the Council Chairman, saying that Oshimili North Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Louis Ndukwe has continued to show responsibility in the security and wellbeing of the people in consonance with his oath of office.
He assured that the Ibuzo Community Police will judiciously use the Vehicle for the purpose it was meant for, while promising the support and cooperation of the entire community to the administration of the Council Chairman in his determination to rid the council area of criminality.
