Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon.Kevin Okwechime has presented a Toyota Sienna Security Space Bus and a brand new motorcycle to the local Government Area Vigilante Group.
The Council boss presented the Security Vehicle and the Motorcycle to the vigilante group led by its Chairman, Mr Ifechukwude Okoise, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, in a brief but impressive ceremony held at the Local Government Council Secretariat, Issele-Uku.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Okwechime appreciated the Vigilante Group for their selfless service to the people of the area and said the Security Vehicle and the Motorcycle were purchased and presented to them to boost their security surveillance of the area.
He further said his gesture was in line with his administration’s determination to sustain the existing peace and tranquility in the Local Government area.
While assuring monthly stipends for the regular maintenance of the security vehicle and the motorcycle, Okwechime pledged to repair and put the former security vehicle being used by the vigilante group in proper shape.
He maintained that the Local Government under his Leadership, will continue to cooperate with the relevant security agencies in the LGA, to make the security of life and property top priority, even as he called on the people to continue to support vigilante groups in the onerous task of helping to secure lives and properties across various communities in Aniocha North.
Hon. Okwechime then admonished the Group to make proper use of the vehicle and the motorcycle for the purpose for which it was presented which he maintained was for security and not for any other purpose, even as he urged them to continue to work in line with the rules of engagement as vigilante groups.
Receiving the vehicle and the motorcycle on behalf of the Group, the Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Area Vigilante Group, Mr. Ifechukwude Okoise, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman and the Local Government for the presentations
Okoise also commended the Chairman’s resolve and determination to sustain the existing peace and uncommon security in the area.
While affirming that the security vehicle and the motorcycle would go a long way in assisting them in effective security surveillance of the local Government area, Mr. Okoise assured that the vehicle and motorcycle would be used effectively for the sole purpose of security.
With the Executive Chairman at the event were top officials of the Local Government, including; the Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kiakenechukwu Okolie and the Assistant Director of Administration in the Council, Mr. Augustine Onwueze who represented the Head of Personal Management of the Council, Mr Bertrand Ojeh.
