The Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, has got delivery of new earth moving equipment, acquired by the Local Government Council.
Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Kevin Okwuchime, formally received the equipment on Friday October 7, 2022 in a brief, but impressive ceremony, witnessed by some principal officers of his administration at the Council secretariat, Issele-Uku, the administrative headquarters of the Local Government Area.
Receiving the equipment, Hon. Okwechime said that the procurement of the earth moving machine was in line with his administration’s commitment towards rehabilitation and opening up of earth roads within the Local Government area as well as easy, regular environmental cleanliness of the area by way of massive evacuation dustbins.
He said that his administration was not unmindful of the deplorable state of roads in Aniocha North and expressed the readiness of the Local Government to commence massive rehabilitation work on them as soon as the rains subside.
The Council Boss also noted that the Local Government plans to make the earth moving equipment available for commercial purposes as a means of boosting the revenue base of the Local Government for more developmental needs of the people of the area.
While pledging to ensure that the machine is put into proper use for the benefit of all, Hon. Okwechime warned those that would handle the equipment against using it in a way that would undermine the administration’s vision and vowed to apply the law decisively whenever any form of misuse is detected.
He thanked all relevant stakeholders and departments for their support and dedication, and urged them to redouble their efforts as more plans are being made for the overall development of the local government area, even as he called for continued cooperation and synergy between the executive and legislature arm, the labour union, party leaders, traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders, to enable his administration continue with the implementation of its laudable policies and programmes.
