The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu was at the weekend in Abuja conferred with the 2022 Award of Excellence as the Most Vibrant and Articulated Opposition Leader by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
PASAN is the national umbrella association of Staff of the National Assembly and those of the 36 State Houses of Assembly across the nation, who drive the day-to-day running of Legislative arm of Government at all levels in the country.
The award, the organizers stated is in recognition of Hon. Elumelu’s untiring efforts strengthening democratic practice in Nigeria by insisting on checks and balances, accountability and transparency in the system in addition to his persistent people-oriented contributions at plenary, committee sessions and oversight activities.
Elumelu was recognized for his firm commitment in defending the rights of the Nigerian masses as well as playing key roles in the enactment of legislations and formulation of policies aimed at empowering and transforming of the lives of Nigerians.
The Minority Leader is also acclaimed for successfully uniting and courageously leading a very vibrant opposition in the House of Representatives to ensure good governance in the country.
Elumelu, in his remarks, thanked the organizers and assured that the award will spur him to do more.
Dignitaries present at the event included, Senate Leader, Sen. Jibrin Barau Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Philip Aduda, Hon Beni Lar, Hon Teejudeen Ayo Yusuf and Hon Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe amongst others.
