PDP LGA Congress: Elumelu, Okwuofu, Chinye, Odigie, Egwunyenga, Okwudi, Uzoma, Okenyi, Other Leaders Participate, Expresses Satisfaction With Congress Outcome In Aniocha North

Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu was among delegates at the PDP Local Government Area Congress in Aniocha North Local Government Area.

The Congress held on Saturday August 10, 2024 at the PDP Secretariat in Issele-Uku, elected through affirmation, 18 new officials to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years in the area.

The Returning Officer, for the election, Mr. Victor Oforbrukueta declared the officials duly elected and returned, based upon a motion unanimously seconded and adopted by all Delegates at the Congress.

Chief Nkem Okwuofu who participated in the Congress was also unanimously affirmed and returned as the National Delegate of the Party.

Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Council, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye was also present and participated actively at the LGA Congress in the area.

Honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology in the State, Dr Daniel Odinigwe Odigie, the Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, former Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Jaunty Okwudi, Chief Dan Okenyi and Prince Uzoma Idabor were also amongst the Leaders of the Local Government Area that participated at the Congress.

In a chat with journalists at the end of the Congress, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu commended the conduct of the election of the officials of the party in Aniocha North at the Congress, describing it as the freest congress he had ever experienced.

Elumelu who was visibly elated with recent happenings in Aniocha North politically; from the successful local Government Chairmanship election to the just concluded peaceful PDP Local Government Congress, said it was indeed a sign of good omen for the people of the area.

“Something good is happening to our Local Government Area; ranging from the Council Chairmanship election, where we never had any issue. All the aspirants stepped down for the current Chairman of the Local Government.

“The same thing was replicated in the Congress. Virtually all the Leaders were in agreement that those who had done only one tenure should continue and Delegates from the ten wards also affirmed that they are in support for them to continue.

“The same thing, the National Delegate was unanimously elected,” he said.

He expressed his gratitude first, to God Almighty who he noted made it possible for the Congress to hold and secondly to the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for his determination to ensure peace and unity, not only in our party, but in the whole of the State.

He affirmed that the Governor’s MORE Agenda is working in the State.

“His Excellency has said that he will ensure that everybody is happy. That is what we witnessed today at the just concluded Congress where officials were successfully elected,” Elumelu stated.

While congratulating the newly elected officials, the renowned Political Leader charged them to show fairness and equity in the discharge of their duties and endeavor to carry everybody along in the running of the affairs of the Party in Aniocha North.

He further advised, the newly constituted Executives, to hit the ground running, taking a cue from the present Executive Chairman of the Local Government Council, Hon Emma Bazim Chinye who he commended for hitting the ground running immediately he was inaugurated.

“They should work assiduously to bring back those who have left the party. They should bring them back into the fold. That is why we have entrusted the party into their hands,” the immediate past Minority Leader said.

Also in a chat with journalists, Chief Nkem Okwuofu expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the Congress and attributed it to the Grace of God upon the party in Aniocha North.

“It has been ordered by God Almighty. God is perfect and everything done with His approval is always perfect. As you can see for yourselves, everything went well.

Chief Okwuofu, who is a member of the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) called on the newly elected LGA officials to be humble in service, noting that they were elected by members of the party in Aniocha North to serve and not to boss them.

She said the Executives are expected to serve members and make sure there is no problem in the Party in the area.

While congratulating them, Okwuofu prayed to God Almighty to enable the Party Officials with all that is needed to take the Party to another level of glory.

In the same vein, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Council, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye described the Congress as peaceful and successful.

He appreciated the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for ensuring an enabling environment for free and fair election.

Hon. Chinye also appreciated the Leaders of the Party in Aniocha North Local Government Area for their Units of purpose and urged the newly elected Party Officials in the area to work seriously for the good of the party, even as he assured to work with them to move PDP in the Area to another level of Peace, Unity and Progress.
