The member representing Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu has said that his victory at the polls was evident that those who believe in God cannot be disappointed.
Speaking on Monday at his residence in Asaba when members of Ndokwa Christian Women Intercessors Outreach (NCWIO), paid him a congratulatory visit, Emetulu disclosed that it was a surprise that he won with wide margin even in opposition strongholds.
“Nothing works like prayers; once you have God as your pillar, things will work like magic.
“Our victory at the polls was based on prayers and we thank God that the whole electoral exercise went well according to the will of God.
“Yes, we can only attribute our successes at the polls to God because, as an individual, I was even surprised that I defeated my opponents with wide margins in the area that we thought were their stronghold,” Emetulu said.
On what he intends to do with his re-election, Emetulu stated that as a realist, he will not make promises that will be described in the future as “political” but, rather, will continue to ensure effective representation for his people.
He said, “I believe and strongly rely on God for me to get it right always for our people; I cannot make promises about what I will do or what I will not do because, I am not God, so, I do not know what will happen tomorrow, I can only rely on Him for guidance.
“The joy is that our people are confident that relying on God, they will always get the best when it comes to legislative activities.
“I am grateful to our people for their prayers and support which came in several ways.”
The General Co-ordinator of NCWIO which is also known as Favoured Daughters, Bishop Mrs Fidelia Oyemike, had on behalf of her group, congratulated Emetulu on his victory at the polls, assuring him of the continuous prayers of the Favoured Daughters.
“All night prayer is held every Thursday night for you, Hon. Emetulu and our incoming Deputy Governor, Chief Monday Onyeme; that is the support we are giving from the three local government areas of Ndokwa West, Ndokwa East and Ukwuani.
“In everything that you do, put God first because with such, God will always be with you and where men cannot stand, the Lord will stand and strengthen you,” she said.
