This year’s edition of the lecture will be the first to hold since the governor assumed duty on May 29, 2023.
Making the disclosure on Tuesday in Asaba, the Secretary of Maris Trust Council, MTC, organisers of the annual event that holds every Wednesday of the Holy Week, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, disclosed that by the grace of God, the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba is set to host the event which is attended by people who desire to make the society better.
According to Egugbo, the governor will be accompanied by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, who is also, attending the lecture for the first time as Guest of Honour. Recall that in the year 2021, Sir Onyeme was the Guest Speaker at the lecture where he spoke on the topic, ‘Effective Tax Administration for the Delivery of Democratic Dividends.’
“To the glory of God almighty, it is now few hours to this year’s edition of the Maris Annual Public Service lecture and the Governor of Delta State, it can be confirmed, is attending the ceremony as Special Guest of Honour.
“All the key players for the lecture, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Stella Chinye Chiemeke, Vice Chancellor, University of Delta, UNIDEL, Agbor, who will speak on the topic, ‘Flight of Talents: Navigating Nigeria’s Brain Drain Predicament,’ Chairman of Occasion, Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko of the House of Representatives, Mother of the Day, Lady Rosaline Amioku of the Delta State Civil Service Commission and Rev. Fr. John Konyeke of the Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku will attend the occasion. Fr. Konyeke is the Father of the Day.
“Also, the discussants, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi who is popularly known as Ada Anioma, Commissioner for Technical Education, Delta State, Dr Barry Gbe, the Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Chief Philomena Ededey Ugheminaye, member representing Delta Central at the Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Tony Amaechi, the Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Investments and Freddie Toritseju Erulu-Ede of Eruli-Ede, Eruli-Ede and Co; and the Moderator for the lecture, Chief Kemi Emina, Ph.D, have confirmed their readiness for the lecture.
“So far, so good, we have also, received a lot of calls from people across the state and beyond that they will attend the lecture because they have a lot to learn; it can be confirmed that some of them are already in Asaba enjoying the goodies of the ancient city by the River Niger.
