Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission and a notable political leader in the State, Chief Nkem Okwuofu has applauded the Presidential approval of two globally distinguished entrepreneurs from Delta State, Dr. Tony Elumelu and Sir Gabriel Ogbechie, who are amongst other distinguished Nigerians to be conferred with the Prestigious Nigeria National Honours Award.
In a statement on Friday October 7, 2022, Chief Okwuofu was excited by the National Honours on them and said that Dr Tony Elumelu who is the Chairman of UBA and Founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation as well as Sir Gabriel Ogbechie, Chairman and Managing Director of RainOil Nigeria Limited, are indeed distinguished sons of Delta State that has continued to contribute immensely to the economic development of Nigeria and Africa.
Chief Okwuofu also noted their worthy contributions to their State, Delta and was full of praises for their commitment towards the SMART and Stronger Delta Agenda of the Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s led administration in the State, saying that the National Honours Award being conferred on them is well deserved and commendable.
“I am particularly delighted over the news of the approval by His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, for two of our distinguished sons to be conferred with our Nation’s National Honours Award.
“The National Honour on them is a welcomed development and a clear attestation of the great value the two have added to the economic development of our great Country, Nigeria.
“Particularly, I am most grateful for their uncommon support to the SMART and Stronger Delta Agenda of our indefatigable Governor and PDP Vice-Presidential Candidate for the forthcoming Presidential election in 2023, His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa. It is based on their passion for the economic development of our State, the Country and the Africa Continent, that made my joy full when the news of their presidential approval for the National Honours award broke out.
