It was joy unspeakable and happy fulfillment for former Miss Mildred Awele, the beautiful and elegant daughter of Mr and Mrs Patrick Onyenibedi of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, when she was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her heart, the young, handsome and ebullient Bildad Akpensaren, son of late Barr and Mrs. Atsegha Dzungwe of Usar in Nanev Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
The holy matrimony was solemnized on Saturday 18th July, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cathedral, Naka Road, Makurdi, Benue State and was officiated by Very Rev. Fr. Francis Massdile Onyenibedi and Rev. Fr. Benjamin Kulekule who is the Associate Priest to the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Abela.
The very successful and well coordinated wedding ceremony was attended by friends, colleagues and associates of the Couple as well as relatives and well wishers of both families.
In his homily, captioned, “The Mystery Of Marriage”, Very Rev. Fr. Francis Onyenibedi said that Marriage is of divine origin for the fact that it has God Almighty as the author and originator, while describing the marriage institution as the common vocation of all human.
The Charismatic Catholic Priest asserted that the institution of marriage has the divine imperative of “Be Fruitful, increase, multiply and fill the earth”, attached to it, saying that it is a command that has the mandate to develop, expand and subdue the earth.
“Both divine imperatives form the core of the divine invitation to human beings to share and participate in the creative work of God,” he stated and further declared that marriage as a sacrament, is a mystery and not a contract, saying that it is through the grace and help of God that Couples would be able to unravel this mystery as they leave together as husband and wife all the days of their lives.
Fr. Onyenibedi therefore admonished Bildad and Midred, to make prayer a key factor in their everyday live as husband and wife, affirming the critical role prayers plays in any successful marriage.
“The family that prays together stays together. Through prayers, God will shower on you His grace to enable you live out daily the mystery of marriage,” he prayed, even as he said that event such as the joining of two persons in holy matrimony calls for prayers and reflection than just merry making.
“It is the day that marks and open up a new page in your lives as husband and wife, father and mother and the day that raises your status both in the civil society and the church, to parenthood and to responsibility both in the state and in the church, the Man of God stressed.
The renowned Catholic Priest expressed delight and joy over the wedding ceremony and said that his joy stem from the fact that twenty–eight years after joining the parent of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Onyenibedi in Holy matrimony in Lagos, he was back again in Makurdi, Benue State for the singular honour of joining the first fruit of that Union in holy wedlock.
“May God bless the young couple and grant them abundance of grace for their married status, through Christ Our Lord! Amen,” he concluded in prayers.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the pronouncement of Midred and Bildad as husband and wife, signing of the marriage register and the formal presentation of the marriage certificate to the couple.
In a chat with cshowcasenews.com, Mr. and Mrs. Bildad Atsegha Dzungwe expressed joy over their coming together as Husband and wife and said that they would continue to be grateful to God Almighty who made it possible, even as they said that the word of God would be their watchword in their union.
They appreciated the numerous guests that graced the occasion and prayed that God in his mercy would celebrate them and meet them at the point of their needs.
Also in a Chat, the father of the bride, Mr. Patrick Onyenibedi, a renowned public and social commentator based in Delta State expressed happiness over the marriage of her beloved daughter to the love of her heart, adding that it was a thing of Joy to be alive to witness the auspicious occasion of her daughter’s wedding, even as he prayed that God would sustain their Joy by making their union fruitful and blissful.
“Many thanks to my dear brothers, wonderful sisters, great in-laws, friends, most especially, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, Barr Andrew Osemedua Odum and numerous well wishers, who stood by my family from the inception to the end.
“May our Heavenly Father bless you all and give you positive cause to always celebrate in your lives through Christ our Lord, Amen!,” Mr. Onyenibedi prayed.
