I’ll Continue To Pursue The Well-Being Of Our People, Says Elumelu; As Delta LG HPM, Management Celebrate His Achievements As MP

Immediate Past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu has said he will continue to pursue the well-being and interest of the people in all his activities as a politician.

Elumelu spoke recently while playing host to the Management of Aniocha North Local Government Council, who were on a courtesy visit to him in his Country home at Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The Management of the Council, led by the Acting Chairman/HPM, Mr. Bartrend Ojeh was at the residence of the former minority leader, to appreciate him for working assiduously in attracting federal projects to Delta State especially the Federal Government College of Nursing Science to the Local Government Area.

Elumelu maintained that the well-being of the people remains the centerpiece of his goals, objectives and aspirations as a politician.

“When the people vote us into office, it is their investment in us. The return on their investment is for us to make them happy by providing them with the basic life amenities geared towards improving their standards of living.

“That is why I must thank you for coming because it has further strengthened me to continually pursue the wellbeing of our people,” he stated.

Stating that “Abuja” remains the place where the national cake is shared, Elumelu said an experienced representative of the people must have the knowledge, not only on how to pick the cake, but how to get it right when it is being shared.

He commended the Heads of Personal Management (HPM) in the various local government Councils in Delta State for holding the fort for the people at the Local Government level, adding that since the expiration of the tenure of elected Council Chairmen in the State, the HPMs have continued to manage the Councils well.

He said the Local Government as a tier of Government is still very critical to the well-being of the people at the grassroots.

Hon Elumelu appreciated the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for his avid commitment to the welfare of the workers of the Local Government Councils, particularly the retirees.

Earlier in his address, the Acting Chairman/HPM of Aniocha North Local Government, Mr. Bartrend Ojeh said that they were grateful and greatly appreciated Hon. Elumelu’s relentless efforts towards the uplifting of the standard of living of the people, especially with the attraction of a Federal Government College of Nursing Science to Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North.

“Apart from the fact that Aniocha North children will have an unrestricted opportunity to be admitted into this great institution to study Nursing Science which is a highly competitive aspect of Medicine, this federal institution has the potential of boosting the economy of the people of Aniocha North, particularly in the area of job creation; directly or indirectly.

“You have continued to do well for our people, not only in Aniocha North, but in the whole of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State.

“Even when you are not a sitting member of the National Assembly, we are particularly amazed that God is still using you to do wonders for our people.

“Sir, on behalf of the Government, leaders and indeed the good people of Aniocha North, we have come to say a big thank you for all that you are doing for our people and to encourage you, not to relent in your leadership of the people.

“Our prayer is that God in His Infinite Mercy will continue to bless you and take you to a position where you will continue to be of immense value to the people for the praise and glory of His Holy name,” Mr Ojeh stated.
