The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Health Monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko has disclosed that the State Widow’s Welfare Scheme is to collaborate with his office for effective monitoring and evaluation of the widow’s free medical program across the State.
The working relationship was reached recently in a meeting between the State Coordinator of the Delta State Widow’s Welfare Scheme, Elder Isioma Okonta and the SSA to the Governor on Health Monitoring.
Briefing the SSA Health Monitoring on the activities of his office, Elder Isioma Okonta who appreciated Dr. Nwoko for his resounding and unrelenting efforts in carrying out monitoring of all health care facilities across the State, disclosed that a total of 5,607 widows have already enrolled for the free widow’s medical program under the State Contributory Health Commission.
He said that the program, initiated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in the State, was aimed at providing widows in the State access to free medical care as part of the Stronger Delta Agenda, saying that the partnership will no doubt help to strengthen the program in the State.
While commending Elder Okonta for recording such a wonderful achievement within a very short time, Dr. Nwoko expressed the readiness of the Delta Health monitoring office to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the program in the State to ensure that the aim of initiating the program by the State Governor is achieved.
