The newly inaugurated Chairman, Delta State Waste Management Board, Chief Emma Chinye has pledged to lead the Board into massive evacuation of accumulated waste out of major roads and streets of the State.
Chinye spoke on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the reception held in his honour after his inauguration by the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
He appreciated the Governor for reappointing him back to the Board and said he will not take the confidence reposed in him by the Governor for granted.
“You can see that since the exit of the Board in May this year till now, you notice a great difference. You see wastes and weeds coming back to major roads and streets. By the grace of God, in the next six months, our focus will be to evacuate all those waste out of the major roads and streets in the State. After that we will now go into the proper issue of waste management,” he assured.
He said waste management is beyond just evacuation, pointing out that a lot of things are involved, even as he pledged the determination of the Board under his leadership to work assiduously in consonance with the MORE agenda of the State Governor.
While commending the entire people of the State for their support and cooperation with the Governor in the realization of the Governor’s MORE agenda, Chief Emma Chinye appreciated the people of Aniocha North for their love, prayers and support and said environmental cleanliness and waste management should begin from home.
“Everybody should get ready to clean the environment for our own good,” he said.
At the reception were notable leaders of the state who joined the people of Aniocha North Local Government area to accord him a rousing reception.
