Councillor representing ward 4, Onicha-Uku, in the Legislative arm of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Chinyere Nkabu have renovated the Onicha – Uku Primary Health Care Centre.

The traditional ruler of Onicha – Uku, His Royal Majesty, Obi Raphael Agbamuche II represented by the Onu Obi of Onicha – Uku, Chief Lawrence Mokwunye on Thursday, October 19, 2023 led other traditional Chieftains of the Community to the Health Centre for on the spot assignment of the project executed by Hon. Chinyere Nkabu.

Hon. Nkabu also provided window blinds, hospital bed sheets, and pillow cases for all the beds in the health care centre.

The female Councillor also in a bid to ensure a high level of good sanitation in the Centre provided sanitation items such as mob, parkers, brush and packs of detergent for the Health Centre.

The items were formally handed over to the Executive Secretary of the Aniocha North Local Health Authority, Dr Anthony Okolo who was represented by the Matron of the Health Care Centre, Mrs Onyinye Enunwa.

The handing over was witnessed by the representatives of the Obi of Onicha – Uku after leading a guided inspection of the renovated health care centre.

Speaking at the brief, but memorable event, Obi Raphael Agbamuche II commended the female Councillor for her proactive representation of the people of the ward at the Aniocha North Local Government and said Hon. Nkabu has continued to distinguish herself as a Councillor with a heart for the people.

While describing the female Councillor as a beloved daughter who has continued to be effective and efficient in her representation of the ward, the representative of the Obi prayed for her and urged the Councillor not to relent in her pursuit as an upcoming distinguished politician in the ward.

Receiving the items, the Matron, representing the Executive Secretary of the Local Health Authority, appreciated the Councillor for her love for the people and assured the items will be used judiciously for the overall benefits of the centre.

She called on other Councillors in the local Government to emulate the proactive representation of Hon. Nkabu in providing services that have direct bearing to the lives of the people at the ward level.

Earlier, Hon. Chinyere said the renovation of the Primary Health Care Centre was in a bid to give the centre a facelift and sustainability, noting that items provided were to ensure topnotch health services for the people in a clean and conducive environment.

Hon. Nkabu paid glowing tribute to the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu, saying she will continue to appreciate him for the obvious fact that she learned how to be a good representative of the people from him.

She commended the traditional ruler, the Chiefs and the entire community for their support and prayers, even as she pledged to continue to give them effective representation at the Aniocha North Local Government.

At the event was the Majority leader of the Legislative arm of the Local Government; Hon. Ernest Udoji Azonuche and one of the representatives of the Executive Secretary of the Local Health Authority, Mr. Philip Owuemene.

Also at the event was the Isama of Onicha – Uku; Chief Anthony Unorkanjordi, Chairman of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in the ward; Mr. Alex Okonji, Secretary of the party in the ward; Mr. Sunday Odiegwu, PDP woman leader in the ward; Mrs Theresa Egbon, and the ward  PDP Youth Leader; Mr. Nwike Uzu amongst others
