Delta North College of Youths Inaugurates Aniocha North Chapter, Passes Confidence Vote In Governor Oborevwori, Okowa, Chinye …Endorses Oborevwori For Second Tenure

Delta North College of Youths, an umbrella body for all youth organizations in the area has passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and endorsed him for a second term in office following his outstanding achievements in government.

The Youth body also passed a confidence vote on the immediate  past Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as well as the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye for their selfless contributions towards the development of the youths in the State.

This formed the highpoint of the inauguration of the Aniocha North Local Government Area Chapter of the Delta North College of Youths in a ceremony held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Aniocha North Local Government Skills Acquisition and Event Centre, Issele-Uku.

Executive Assistant to the State Governor on Youth Development and Chairman Delta North College of Youths, Comrade Emeka Asiwe who led the leadership of the College from the nine Local Government Areas to the event, formally inaugurated the Chapter.

The event which was hosted by the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye and sponsored by the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu was attended by over seven hundred youths from across various youth organizations in the area.

In his remark, Hon. Chinye expressed joy over the realization of the vision of bringing together all youth organizations under one umbrella stating that such would make it easier to reach and further empower a greater number of the Youths in the area.

While congratulating the Chairman of the newly inaugurated Chapter, Hon. Richard Anonyei, and his members, Hon Chinye urged them to see their new assignment as a call to service and put in their best in the delivery on the mandate.

He used the opportunity to reveal the steps being taken by his administration in the area of Youth Development through the Committee on Youth Innovation and Development.

“Just a few weeks ago, we rounded off our football talent hunt where six well talented young footballers were discovered. By the grace of God, before April this year, the six of them will be sent to Germany to pursue careers in professional football” he assured and said more innovations geared towards the development of the Youths are on board.

While thanking the organizers of the Delta State College of Youths for taking up the challenge of bringing the entire Youth organization together as a body, Hon Chinye appreciated the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for their unwavering commitment and support.

He also thanked all the leaders of Delta North for Supporting the vision, particularly the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu who he noted singlehandedly sponsored the hosting of the entire event.

The climax of the occasion was a motion for the vote of a confidence in Governor Oborevwori by the Secretary of the Area Chapter, of the Delta North College of Youths, Comrade Raymond Omesiete, who described the governor “as a dynamic Youth Friendly Governor whose excellent and proactive delivery of his more Agenda to the benefits, not only to the Youths, but to the entire people of the State is highly appreciated by the entire people of Delta State.”

The College, in the same vein, unanimously endorsed the Governor for second tenor, even as they maintained that there is no vacancy at the Delta State Government House come 2027.

Comrade Omesiete, on behalf of the College, also applauded the immediate past Governor for his proactive leadership and passion for the youth, even when he is out of office.

He said, “This will not be complete on a Man, who, even when he has left us as the Governor, still remembers us, the Youth and today we even received a message from him. Our father and leader have continued to be there for us.”

In their assessment of the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Chinye, the Delta North College of Youths, Aniocha North Chapter, also through the Secretary, commended him immensely for his unique leadership style, which they noted centered on the people, saying that his administration’s MORE GAINS mantra has been of great value and benefit to the Youths in the Area.

They further noted that for six months into his administration, Hon Emma Chinye has been proactive, demonstrating fairness, utmost focus and dedication in the translation of his vision of rebuilding Aniocha North into reality, even as they noted his numerous youth empowerment initiatives and programmes, geared towards youth and sports development.

The impressive ceremony was witnessed by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade ThankGod, his Science and Technology counterpart; Dr. Daniel Odinigwe Odigie and the State Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer; Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga as well as the Vice Chairman of the Local Government; Hon Clara Nneka Dibia.
