Delta LG Polls: Elumelu Charges Newly Elected LG Chairmen, Councillors On Mandate Delivery, Hails Governor Oborevwori On Free And Fair Election

Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, OON has charged the newly elected and Inaugurated Local Government Chairmen and Councillors in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State to dedicate themselves to the delivery of democracy dividends to the people.

Elumelu who felicitated with the four Local Government Chairmen and eighty Councillors from the four local Government Areas within the Federal Constituency on their electoral victories, commended the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for ensuring a free, fair and credible Local Government election where only the Will of the people prevailed.

Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye (Aniocha North), Hon. Jude Chukwunwike (Aniocha South), Hon. Innocent Esenwezie (Oshimili North) and Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili (Oshimili South) were declared winners in the just concluded Council election in their respective Local Government Areas by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DESIC)

They were inaugurated alongside their colleagues on Monday, July 15, 2024 by the State Governor, Rt.Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori in an impressive ceremony held at the Delta State Event Centre, Asaba.

Rt. Hon. Elumelu, in a charge issued after the inauguration of the new Local Government Chairmen, said the electoral victories of the four Local Government Chairmen and the Councillors was a confirmation of their fitness and capacity to manage the affairs of the people at the grassroots.

Their election, he said also reflected their overwhelming acceptance by leaders and the generality of the people of the Local Government areas in the Federal Constituency.

While congratulating the newly elected Chairmen, vice Chairmen and the Councillors, Elumelu urged them to key into the MORE Agenda of the State Governor with a view to giving the people the much needed dividends of democracy, noting that the reason for their election by the people was for them to work assiduously for their needs and aspirations.

He advised them to imbibe the State Governor’s spirit of humility and love for the people, even as he urged them to always be intune and in touch with the people at all times.

The renowned politician and Federal Lawmaker prayed to God to grant the new Local Government officials the wisdom and all that is needed to project the people at the grassroots to another level of peace, progress and prosperity.
