The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government in Delta State, Hon Louis Ndukwe has reiterated the need for the residents of the Local Government area to adhere strictly to the instructions of the State Government in curbing the spread of the deadly corona virus.
In a statement personally signed by him, Hon Ndukwe said that the health and welfare of the people of the area has remain paramount in his agenda as the Chairman of the Local Government, saying that based on the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the stay at home directives of the State Government, his administration will continue to check on them with a view to ensuring strict adherence.
“Please stay at home and Stay safe as instructed. Your health and welfare means a lot to us. Please wash your hands frequently with soap for at least a few minutes. If you have dry cough, sore throat, high temperature or difficulty in breathing, please isolate immediately and seek medical advice.
“Again, if you notice any of such symptoms from any of your wards or close relatives, neighbours, friends or colleagues, please kindly contact the Oshimili North Local Government Area Contact Team,” Hon. Hon. Ndukwu while praying for the blessings of God for all resident of the Local Government, he also prayed for the sustenance of their lives with a view to working in synergy with them in ensuring that the deadly virus does not in any way spread in the Local Government Area.
It could be recalled that the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North, Hon Louis Ndukwe in his earlier communication residents of the area last week, had called for their cooperation and understanding in the urgent need for strict compliance with the State Governor’s directives for a freezing of all social activities, whereby he said that security agencies in conjunction with vigilante groups has been directed to ensure total compliance of the Governor’s instruction in all the communities in the Local Government area.

With effect from Tuesday 24th March, 2020 as directed by His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor, Delta State for a freezing of all social activities in the mentioned range below, we crave your cooperation and understanding of the need for total adherence and strict Compliance.
In view of the above said, be informed that security Agencies and Vigilante Groups shall be enforcing compliance in our communities. It is pertinent to reiterate that we all share in the inconveniences and pains associated with your cancelled ceremonies at this time.
The essence of the above measure is a proactive step by the Government in the right direction to guard against aiding the Corona Virus anticipated exponential growth in our LGA and state at large.
Please treat as an emergency. Our prayer is that in the end of this scourge, Oshimili North will count its residents/indigenes and Delta at large and none of its own shall be missing through Christ Jesus, Amen.

1. All form of social gatherings such as burial and marriages, are banned indefinitely. Police and Community vigilantes should be mandated to enforce compliance.
2. All forms of Community Conferences and Town hall meetings suspended forthwith
3. All Supermarkets, Hotels and business outlets must display hand washing spots and sanitizers at entry points and to ensure that customers obey social distance protocol.
4.Community leadership should be made to partner with leadership of various markets in the provision of hand washing spots and sanitizers in strategic places within markets.
5.All forms of religious crusade and revivals to stop forthwith.
6.All forms of political meetings and gathering to stop forthwith!”
