Club DE ACADAS Inaugurates Solar Street Light Project In Issele-Mkpitime

Club De Acadas, a community based non–profit organization, made up of youths in Issele-Mkpitime in Aniocha North local Government Area, Delta State, has provided and installed another 30 units of Solar Light stands in the Community.

The Solar Light Units which was the second phase of the Club’s Solar Light project in Issele-Mkpitime, was formally inaugurated on Sunday December 26, 2021 in a brief, but impressive ceremony.

Mr. Achomuba Chukwudi, the immediate past President-General, Issele-Mkpitime Federal Union, IMFU, commissioned the project and was witnessed by the incumbent PG,  Mr. Oge Okwuka, his vice, Chief Mrs. Cynthia-Nwaobi Udeh and other Executive members of IMFU.

Commissioning the project, Mr Achomuba Chukwudi expressed the appreciation of the people of Issele-Mkpitime for the good work the Club has been doing in the community since its inception.

He said with the installation of Solar Light Units within the community by the club, it has made the streets in Issele-Mkpitime to be illuminated and bright all night long, even when there are power failures in the various houses at night.

Chukwudi encouraged them to keep on with the good work and not to relent in their effort towards the massive development of the community, saying that the development of the community remains in the hands of everybody.

“A new dawn has come into Issele-Mkpitime, where people can freely bring out their money and resources and sponsor projects that are beneficial to the Community.

“You can imagine a situation where somebody will bring out as much as five million naira and he will not want to be known or appreciated, but just for the town to be developed for the benefit of all. I must say that the Lord God Almighty is doing a new thing in our town using our people.

“So, I am particularly happy and impressed by your resolve in helping to illuminate the town and all other projects you have sponsored for the overall benefit of the people of Issele-Mkpitime,” the former PG stated.

In his remarks, Mr. Oge Okwuka, President General of the Towns Federal Union, commended the members of the Club for their massive developmental stride in the community, noting that Club De Acadas have become synonymous with the development of Issele-Mkpitime.

He said that it gives him lots of joy having such energetic, determined and patriotic young men that are all out for the even development of the town, saying that with their noble actions, they have been critical to the peace, prosperity and progress of the community.

While urging them to continue with the development of the community, the PG called on them to continue to live in peace and unity among themselves, even as he admonished the people of the Town to ensure that the Solar Street Stands are protected and not trampled upon.

Earlier in his address, the President, Club De Acadas, Mr. Ezekiel Nwabuokei Okafor said that the Club embarked on installation of Solar street lights in Issele-Mkpitme with a view to providing and improving illumination, security and safety of lives as well as enhancing socio-economic activities of the people.

He recalled that the Club, last year commenced with the first phase of the Street light project in the community where twenty three units of solar street light stands were provided and commissioned on December 26, 2020.

Mr Nwabuokei-Okafor listed the developmental strides of the club in the community, to include; construction of deep water well and channeling of water to the well at Okalete Comprehensive Secondary School, construction of two roundabout at two strategic positions in Issele-Mkpitime and payment of WAEC enrolment fee for SS-3 students in Okalete Comprehensive Secondary School.

The Cub President also mentioned the donation of 300 copies of customized notebooks to Students of Okalete Comprehensive Secondary School, Issele-Mkpitime.

“As a Club, we are glad with the new wave of developmental projects going on in the community. We appreciate the efforts of concerned indigenes of the community who have contributed their resources for the good of the community.

“We enjoin all of you, particularly the youth of Issele-Mkpitime, irrespective of your place of residence, to continue to support our community’s developmental projects in any capacity, for the benefits of the present and future generations,” Nwabuokei- Okafor pleaded.

Highlight at the event was the cutting of the ceremonial tape by the immediate Past President General, PG, of Issele-Mkpitime Federal Union, Mr. Ahomuba Chukwudi to signal the commissioning of the project.
