A renowned chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State, Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Agunwanyi) has described the ruling of the Appeal Court, upholding the candidature of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the Governorship Candidate of the Party, for the 2023 General election, as a panacea for enduring peace and unity in Delta PDP.
Chief Okwuofu in a statement, said that the ruling remains an avenue for all members of the party to come together as one indivisible family towards one cause, noting that love and supremacy of the party should override every other thing.
Okwuofu, who is the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, particularly, appealed to Olorogun David Edevbie, to put an end to any form of litigation on the matter bordering on the Governorship Candidate of the party in the state, saying that the appeal court verdict on the matter is more than enough for him or any other member of the party, to rally round the leadership of the party with love and loyalty, towards achieving unity and peace that surpasses all aggrieved interests.
‘We have to work as a team; we have to work as a family. An opportunity has been given to us by this Court ruling, to work together, make peace and move our party forward.
“The Appeal Court ruling was for the good of the party and a pointer for all lovers of our great party to make amends, put every other thing aside with love and regard for the supremacy of the party where peace and unity will take preeminence to the detriment of those opposition elements looking for the downfall of our party in Delta State,” Chief Okwuofu said.
Okwuofu congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the PDP family in the State and Deltans in general, for the Appeal Court Victory, stressing that the event as it unfolded, was an attestation of the hand of God in the election of Oborevwori as the candidate of the party in the State for the forthcoming general election.
“As I rejoice and congratulate the Governorship Candidate of our great Party for the 2023 general election, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the PDP Family and indeed Deltans, I urged all to continue to pray and support him and the PDP towards victory in the election.
“I also urge all Deltans to rally round and continue to pray for our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON and his Running Mate and Vice-Presidential Candidate, our leader, the indefatigable and workaholic Governor of our dear state, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for God in his infinite mercy, to continue to guide and lead them and the PDP to victory, towards rescuing Nigeria, come 2023,” the PDP Chieftain stated.
