Issele-Uku Branch of the United Bank for Africa, UBA was on Monday a beehive of activities as the Bank resumed operations in the Community, which is the Administrative headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area.
The Bank closed banking activities in the Branch three years ago after a series of security breaches.
With the coming of Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, about four weeks ago, necessary measures were deliberately and cautiously put in place by his administration to ensure uninterrupted banking activities in the area, hence management of the Bank gave the approval for the Branch in Issele-Uku to resume operations.
Cshowcasenews.com visited the Branch in Issele-Uku and reported that the Manager and other officers of the bank were in place at 10:15 am in their various duty posts attending to customers.
The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye was among the Bank customers that were promptly attended to by officials of the Bank.
In a chat with journalists after his financial transactions in the bank, Hon Chinye said the resumption of banking operations in the Branch was in keeping with his campaign promises to the people of Aniocha North.
He expressed his appreciation to the Chairman of UBA, Dr. Tony Elumelu and the Management of the Bank for believing in his administration’s resolve to bring about a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in Aniocha North Local Government Area, particularly, Issele-Uku, the headquarters.
Hon Chinye also appreciated the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu for his efforts.
He assured that his administration will not relent in their unalloyed commitment to protect life and property as well as genuine businesses in the area.
“As the Chief Security Officer of the Area, I will continue to deliberately and cautiously work with all the security agencies to make Aniocha North a peaceful area where genuine businesses will thrive unhindered,” he assured.
Also in a chat, some other customers expressed great delight in the resumption of banking activities in the Branch, saying that for about three years, they suffered untoward hardship going to Asaba and Agbor to do their financial transactions.
They appreciated the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon Emma Chinye for keeping to his election campaign promises.
The Executive Chairman, Hon Emma Chinye in conjunction with the vice Chairman of the Council later led the Bank’s Branch Manager and other officials of the Local Government to pay courtesy call on the Monarch of Issele-Uku, where he formally intimated the Traditional Ruler of the resumption of operations of the Branch in Issele-Uku.
