Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State has held its congress at the various wards in the Local Government Area
The ward Congress, held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, elected new executives of the party at the 10 wards in the Area.
The congress was monitored by journalists at Issele-Uku, Issele-Asagba, Ezi Onicha-Olona, Issele-Mkpitime, Onicha-Ugbo, Obior, Idumuje-Ugboko, Idumuje-Unor, Obomkpa, Ugbodu and Ukwu-Nzu.
Party faithful came out in their numbers at the various wards and participated actively throughout the duration of the event.
In a chat with journalists shortly after monitoring the congress in Onicha-Olona ward 4, Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the exercise.
Hon Chinye said the congress was peaceful and calm, saying it was made possible because of the peace and unity of purpose that PDP is known for, from the ward to the State level in Delta State.
He added that the successful outcome of the congress was a clear attestation of the democratic disposition of the State Governor and Leader of the Party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori who he noted has continued to insist that the will of the people must continue to be upheld in line with the ethics and requirements of modern democracy.
He commended party members in the various wards for their show of unity of purpose throughout the period of the Congress, and said he was highly impressed with the report of the outcome of the exercise.
He congratulated the newly elected Ward Executives Members and urged them to carry everybody along in the discharge of their duties in the interest and unity of the party in the various wards.
Also in a chat with journalists, the PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman for Aniocha North Local Government Area, Dr. Charles Ochei said he was impressed with the outcome of the congress at the various wards in the Local Government Area.
Dr Ochei affirmed the peace and unity that pervaded through out the duration of the Congress at the various wards and said that PDP has come of age when it comes to internal democracy.
He also appreciated the Leader of the Party in the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and the Leaders of the Party in Aniocha North Local Government Area for their efforts to ensure a successful ward Congress in the area.
Dr. Ochei further appreciated the observers and the security agencies for their show of professionalism that they brought to bear in the exercise, even as he noted and attested to the maturity of members of the party as their participated in the Congress.

They all expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the Congress at their various wards.
former executives of the party in the various wards were duly dissolved through a motion, moved and seconded before the election of the new executives.
The exercise was supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
