In line with the resolution of the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, to work as an indivisible Family, devoid of faction, the executive committee of the party in the area under Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei, has embarked on a tour of the various wards to reiterate the resolve of the Party.
Members of the party’s executive committee, commenced the tour of the 10 wards on Thursday 12th November, 2020 with ward 9; Ukwu-Nzu and ward 8; Idumuje-Unor taking the lead, while it was the turn of ward 3; Obomkpa, Ward 2; Onicha-Ugbo and Ward 5; Issele-Azagba on Tuesday. Wards 6 and 7 Issele-Uku, had their turn on Wednesday 17th and 18th November, 2020 respectively.
Party members in the various wards visited, came out in their numbers to accord the party executives a rousing welcome, attesting to the love and support they have for the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking at the various wards, the Chairman of the party in Aniocha North, Hon. Charles Ochei, commended the party faithful for their steadfastness, support and preference for the PDP, saying that their visit was to reiterate and stress the position of the party leaders in the area on the need for members to work as a united family.
“We have come with a message from our leaders to you all. It has been resolved by our leaders that they will no longer allow factionalization of our great party. At an enlarged meeting not too long ago at Obomkpa, it was unanimously agreed by our leaders that groupings will no longer be tolerated in our party,” the Chairman reiterated.
He said that for the peace, unity and progress of the party in Aniocha North, everyone with love for the PDP should support and cooperate with the party leaders in the area to discourage factions and grouping in Aniocha North.
Dr. Ochei assured that as members of the Executive Committee of the party in the area, they will continue to work for the peace and unity of the party, saying that they are determined in their resolve to pursue vigorously the leaders of the party’s agreement to work as an indivisible party devoid of factions and groupings.
“We will not align with anybody to do any form of faction in Aniocha North PDP, that is the position of our leaders and that is the message we brought to you today. Do not join anybody to factionalize our party. There is no more faction in Aniocha North PDP and do not be a part in bringing in groups in our party,” the Party boss admonished.
The chairman also restated the position of the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on the need for aspirants to the various positions for the forth coming local government elections in the state to slow down and go about their consultations quietly without bitterness and rancour, stressing again the Governor’s stance that the local government election will not be conducted this year.
Responding, the various ward chairmen and leaders expressed the delight of party members on the visit, even as they all pledged on behalf of party faithful in their wards to support and cooperate with the leaders and executives of the party to work as a family for the benefit of the Party in Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of the sum of #60,000 to the Executive committee in each of the wards for logistics.
With the Chairman on the ward tour included the Vice Chairman, Chief Ayo Momah, the Secretary, Hon. Samuel Osedebe; the Assistant Secretary, Mr Patrick Nwaoba; the Treasurer, Hon. Victor Okonkwo; the Financial Secretary, Mr Raymond Ogbechie; the Youth Leader, Hon. Richard Anonye and the Woman Leader, Mrs Nkem Ogbechie as well as the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Stephen Nwachai among other members.
