The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, has passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman, Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei.
The confidence vote was unanimously passed on Friday November 5, 2022 in an enlarged Executive meeting of the Party held at the Party’s Secretariat at Issele-Uku, the headquarters of the Local Government area.
The Confidence vote, was sequel to a motion to that effect moved by the Assistant Secretary of the PDP in the Area, Comrade Patrick Nwaoba, seconded by the Youth Leader, Hon. Richard Anonyei.
Moving the motion, Comrade Nwaoba, said that as a ranking member of the Executive of the PDP in Aniocha North, he has witnessed crises upon crises among members of the Executives of the Party in the past, noting that since the coming of the present Chairman, peace has continued to prevail among members of the Executives and the entire membership of the PDP in the area because of the Chairman’s charismatic leadership
“My name is Patrick Nwaoba representing the good people of ward 3 Obomkpa, Ugboba and Idumu-ogo in this EXCO. I want to say that in Aniocha North, God blessed us with a leader, a father as the chairman of the PDP in Aniocha North.
“In the history of Aniocha North, we never had it like this. I was in the last EXCO where we had all manners of crises here and there, but we have done more than a year now, we have never had any crises whatsoever, we are intact, we have never quarried, and we have never had any misunderstanding because of the capacity and ability of the Chairman to manage all of us together.
Therefore on this note, I stand to move a motion that the House passes a vote of confidence on the LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Charles Mohanye Ochei,” Nwaoba stated in his motion.
Seconding the Motion, the PDP Aniocha North Youth Leader, Hon. Richard Anonyei, noted that Dr. Ochei has been a Chairman who has continued to carry the Leaders, Executives and members of the party along in the affairs of the PDP in Aniocha North, saying that the Chairman has remained somebody to depend on when it comes to purposeful party leadership.
The Motion was unanimously resolved by members of the Executives that included the entire ward Chairmen of the Party in Aniocha North.
Responding, the Chairman, Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei, commended the Executive Members of the Party for the confidence vote on his leadership and said that the actions of the members has spurred him to do more for the unity, peace and progress of the PDP in Aniocha North, even as he urged them not to relent in their support.
While commending the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his role in bringing about endearing peace and unity in the Party, not only in Aniocha North, but in the entire structure of the party in the State, Dr, Ochei appreciated the Leaders of the Party in Aniocha North and said that their support and contributions has been critical to the existing peace in the party.
He called on the people of Aniocha North who are of the age of 18 and above and have not registered to vote in the next General election, to avail themselves the opportunity of the ongoing INEC voters registration to register, saying that their voters card remains a critical tool for them to retain the PDP in Delta State and vote out the APC at the centre.
