ANIOCHA NORTH PDP DISREGARDS HON. NED NWOKO’S DEFECTION TO APC, DESCRIBES IT AS BUNKUM …PASSES CONFIDENCE VOTE ON GOV. OBOREVWORI
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Aniocha North Local Government chapter, disassociates itself from the defection of Senator Ned Nwoko to the All Progressive Congress (APC). In an LGA EXCO meeting, the party passed a vote of confidence in the Leadership of Governor Francis Oborevwori.
Reacting to the defection of Senator Ned Nwoko, the LGA Chairman Dr. Charles Ochei and Secretary of the Party, Hon Samuel Osadebe, in a statement, said that Aniocha North remains predominantly, a PDP local government.
The Statement Reads:
The attention of the Leadership of the PDP, in Aniocha North Local Government, has been drawn to a letter, dated 30th January, 2025, by Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, in the Senate. In the letter, Senator Ned Nwoko announced his defection from the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Senator Nwoko stated that his “decision to resign is first and foremost, due to the deep division and factionalisation within the Party”. This reason is baseless and totally spurious. The PDP in Delta North, is very strong and united, as the dominant and formidable Political Party, since 1999.
For record purposes, it is important to note, that Senator Nwoko has a very strong penchant to defect from political parties.
For instance, Senator Ned Nwoko left PDP in 2003, to join APGA. In 2011, Senator Nwoko, Joined DPP. And in 2023, Senator Ned Nwoko flew on the crest of the PDP, to the Senate. It is also on record, that Senator Nwoko has never won any election in Nigeria, outside the stable of the PDP.
As a Party that is strongly united, we commend the efforts of our hard working Governor, RT. Hon. Francis Oborevwori, for his visionary M.O.R.E AGENDA.
Long live Aniocha North PDP
Signed:
Dr. Charles Ochei
LGA Chairman , PDP, Aniocha North
Hon. Samuel Osedebe
