Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye has inaugurated newly appointed Chairmen, Secretaries and Members of Five reconstituted Standing Committees of the Local Government.
Hon Chinye performed the inauguration on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in a brief but impressive ceremony held at the Local Government Skills Acquisition and Multi-Purpose Centre, Issele-Uku.
The Committees includes, 10 Man Environmental Task Force/Special Duties that has Hon. Tobe Ukwamedua as Chairman, Mr. Nnalio Michael Chizi, Secretary, 22 Women Mobilization/Empowerment Committee with Mrs Dorothy Udeh as Chairman, Lady Moemeke Josephine Secretary, and 27 Youth Empowerment/Innovative Committee that has Hon Richard Anonyei as Chairman and Mr. Raymond Omesiete Secretary.
Also inaugurated was the 9 Man Revenue Committee that has Hon. Emeka Ezeiwu as Chairman, Secretary, Mr Mojume Ogomegbunem, and 8 Man Religious Committee that has Snr. Apst. Obi Charles Nwabueze as the Chairman, Mallam Ali Mustafa, Co-Chairman and Apst Akinbolade Yero Abiodun, Secretary.
The Inauguration ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon Clara Nneka Dibia, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Raphael Uzo, the Deputy Leader, Hon. Frank Iweke, Members of the Legislative Arm of the Local Government as well as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Dr. Charles Ochei.
In his address at the event, witnessed by the State commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Daniel Odinigwe Odigie, Prince Uzoma Idabor and the President of Sus Runthe Soccer Club of Germany, Mr. Dietmat Wurst, Hon Chinye said that the constitution of the Committees and its subsequent Inauguration has been guaranteed as enshrined in the enabling Local Government Laws of the State and was born out of the necessity to entrench the dual purpose of an all-inclusive participation in Grassroots governance geared towards bringing Local Government developmental activities closer to the people.
The Council boss maintained that the inauguration of the five Committees with over 70 members was in consonance with the components of his Administration’s GAINS mantra that has to do with the involvement of notable indigenous people, imbued with excellence in diverse human endeavors to the benefit of the people.
He charged the Environmental Task Force and Special Duties to work in conjunction with the environmental Health Department of the Council to ensure sanity in the environmental space of the Area and as well charged the Women Mobilization and Empowerment Committee with the responsibility of propagating women mobilization towards employment programs of the Local Government for the benefit of women of the area.
The Executive Chairman gave the Revenue Committee the responsibility of advising the Local Government on all internally generated revenue matters including ways and sources to generate much needed revenues for the Local Government while he tasked the Youth Empowerment and Innovative Committee with the responsibility of championing youth programmes of the Local Government as well as seek to attract other Youth engagement programmes by well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies.
He also assigned the responsibility of propagation of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence amongst people of different faith and belief systems in the Local Government Area.
While congratulating them for their appointments into the various Committees, Hon. Emma Chinye said that their appointment into the Committees was based on the high premium placed on them by the Local Government and the people of Aniocha North.
“The appointments therefore beckon on the goodwill of the esteemed appointees to volunteer quality services for full realization of our collective mission inspired by a vision for a better Aniocha North.
“With God on our side, we are determined to make the difference, your being dependable allies in the Aniocha North Project would be our source of strength,” the Executive Chairman said.
Responding on behalf of the Committees, the Chairman of the Environmental Task Force and Special Duties, Hon. Tobe Ukwamedua appreciated the Executive Chairman of the Local Government for finding them worthy to be appointed into the committees.
He pledged their unalloyed royalty to the Government and People of Aniocha North and said the confidence reposed on them the Local Government will not be taken for granted.
Also at the event was the Secretary designate to the Local Government, SLG, Hon. Kennedy Okoh, Supervisors of the Local Government, Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ndubuisi Osemene, Chief Adviser to the Local Government on Diaspora Matters, Ambassador Alphonsus Uche Ojiodu, the Head of Personnel Management of the Council, Mr. Bartrand Ojeah and Treasurer, Mrs Victoria Fregene as well as Ogbuefi Nnamdi Mohayem amongst others.
