Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye has inaugurated the newly appointed Political Aides of his administration.
Hon. Chinye performed the inauguration on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in a brief ceremony held at the Local Government Skills Acquisition and Multi-Purpose Centre, Issele-Uku.
The event was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Nneka Dibia, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Raphael Uzo, the Deputy Leader, Hon. Frank Iweke, Chairman of PDP in the Local Government Area, Dr. Charles Ochei and former Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Tobe Ukwamedua.
Inaugurating the over Eighty Political Aides, Hon. Chinye said their appointment which cuts across the eighteen communities in the Local Government Area was in keeping with one of the intents of GAINS Agenda of his administration.
He explained that one of those components of his administration’s agenda was to encourage leadership potentials and an all-inclusive participation in grassroots governance, geared towards bringing Local Government developmental activities closer to the people.
“To this end, It would be worthy of note to state here that as Political Aides to the Executive Chairman, you are entrusted with political responsibility to be responsible ambassadors of the current Council’s political administration both in your immediate environment and the Local Government Area at large.
“Your intimate and close involvement in the Executive Chairman’s official and political engagements must be such that align with the vision of a prosperous Aniocha North through the GAINS AGENDA
“By virtue of your position, You are not only to enlighten the Community Members about the policies and programmes of our Administration, but mobilize them to be properly and appropriately be part of the implementation of such programmes in the spirit of the ongoing concerted efforts to rebuild Aniocha North.
“As you may be aware, the constitutionally guaranteed third tier status of the Local Government and its attributes of participatory democracy make it a training ground for potential political leaders.
“I would therefore urge you to leverage on this appointment to groom yourself by being trustworthy and fruitful with the little you are being given now.
“I wish to state that with this Inauguration ceremony today, you are commissioned to be good ambassadors as you are charged to go out and represent all that the GAINS AGENDA stands to achieve for the ultimate wellbeing of our people,” the Executive Chairman said.
Responding on behalf of the newly Inaugurated Political Aides, Hon Jude Nwaghodo thanked the Executive Chairman for finding them worthy to be appointed as his Political Aides.
He spoke extensively on the Executive Chairman’s policies, programmes and actions since his assumption of office, describing them as grassroots oriented and in line with the wishes and aspirations of the entire people of Aniocha North, even as he assured that they would be good ambassadors of his administration in the area and beyond.
