The Member representing Aniocha North State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, has felicitated with Muslims in Aniocha North, as they joined their counterparts all over the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitri.
Hon. Nwaobi in a statement on Wednesday 12th May, 2021, appreciated God for giving Muslim Faithful in the area the strength to go through the one month long spiritual exercise where they were committed to fasting and prayers to God, saying that the essence is to reflect on God’s holiness and greatness.
“With the spiritual exercise, there is no doubt that you have been spiritually renewed to live a life of holiness, a life pleasing to God and beneficial to the society.
“I urge you to remember that living a life of holiness includes loving one another, peaceful coexistence and abstaining from all acts capable of bringing disunity and insecurity in our Local Government Area.
“As you see yourselves as part and parcel of Aniocha North, I call on you to go about your legitimate businesses within your host communities, and always endeavour to abide by the law,” Hon. Nwaobi stated.
While urging them to avoid engaging in any activity that will incur the wrath of the law, he enjoined them to assist the Federal, State and Local Governments in the fight against banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminal tendencies that tend to bring about insecurity in Delta State and Nigeria as a whole, by refusing to harbour dubious characters and exposing criminal elements in the society, even as he called on them to observe the mandated Covid-19 protocol as they celebrate Eid-El-Fitri.
“As you celebrate, let me also encourage you to adhere strictly to the Protocol on Covid-19 as mandated by the State and Federal Ministries of Health. This include wearing of facemask in public places, constant washing of hands with soap on running water or sanitizing of hands with alcohol based hand sanitizers, maintaining social distancing even in places of worship as well as avoiding crowded environment.
“On behalf of the entire people of Aniocha North State Constituency, I heartily wish the entire Muslim community, a very pleasant Eid-El-Fitri celebration,” Hon. Nwaobi prayed.
