Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Udughan has finally dump the All Progressive Party, APC, and rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that his coming back was for him to help in strengthening the Party.
Uduaghan who returned with thousands of his supporters back to PDP, today, Monday 28th September, 2020, was received by his ward 6 Chairman, Mr. Kingsley Ogio and other party leaders at the state, local government and ward levels.
Receiving his PDP party card, Dr Uduaghan said that he is happy to be back home.
According to him, “I just stepped out for a few days to find what is happening outside there and I had come back to strengthen our party, the PDP, the biggest party in Africa.”
“Today I have come to reactivate my membership of the party, I came to pick up my card that I left behind while I was going, I have been hearing that we have a few challenges, politics is always about challenges, whatever challenges we have, we shall all sit down, put our heads together and deal with them.
The former Governor also added that they are well positioned now to enjoy benefits that are meant for the people of Warri North.
“We have the man power, we have the experience, we have the capacity to be able to be in the forefront in Delta State, and that we shall do, we are going to get what belongs to us, and that we shall do.
He explained that as a Commissioner, secretary to the state government and a governor in the State, “there is very little I don’t know in the state.”
Uduaghan while thanking the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his leadership style, urged all Deltans to continue to pray for the governor so that he can finish his tenure well.
Speaking earlier, the ward Chairman, Mr kingsley Ogio, said he had always look forward to a day like this, when Uduaghan will return to the party, stressing that today his dream has been fulfilled.
Warri Federal Constituency House of Representative member, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, while addressing the party faithful, said Uduaghan was returning home and it will only make the party stronger in 2023, insisting despite the presidency occupied by the All Progressive Congress, the PDP still remain the best and most performing party in Africa.
The brief ceremony which was however well attended by some top PDP leaders and members across the state including women groups from Delta and its environs.
Some of the notable figure include; Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Deputy Chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Barr Val Arenyenka, former Commissioner of transport in the state, Mr Vincent Uduaghan, Warri North Local Government Chairman, and Hon Aduge Okorodudu.
Also at the event included; a former House of Assembly member, Mrs Irene Imilar, Dr Isaac Wiliky, the Warri North PDP Chairman, former chairman of Warri North Local Government Chairman and Hon Francis Maku amongst others.
Highlight of the brief ceremony was the official presentation of the PDP party Card, at unit 1 ward 6 to the Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan and other decampees.
