The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE Asaba Branch has commiserated with the Member representing Aniocha North State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi over the death of his father, Sir Marcel Mekowuhe Nwaobi.
The Asaba NSE Chairman led members of his executive on a condolence visit to the legislator at his official residence in Asaba on Friday 4th September, 2020.
According to the chairman, Engr. Akatugba E. John, “We are here to commiserate with Hon. Nwaobi who is not just a member of NSE but has become a benefactor of some sort to the body. It’s not only when it is rosy that we should visit benevolent members but in situations such as this too. For this reason we have come to console Engr. Nwaobi as one of our own.
“We want to let you know that we are solidly behind you as far as the burial of Papa is concerned. Papa lived a good life and it gladdens our heart that he has children like you to give him a befitting burial.
“We pray that God in His infinite mercy grant Papa eternal rest in His bosom. We ask that, that fatherly love of God descend from above to fill the vacuum created by Papa’s absence.
Responding, Nwaobi appreciated the delegation for recognizing him as one of their own who was bereaved, adding that at 87 by all standards his late father didn’t die painfully.
He affirmed that it pleased God to call his father to return home at the age of 87, and so nothing anybody could do about it but to continue to pray for the repose of the soul of the departed.
He however said, “Your call has strengthened me knowing that there is a profession I belong to. I feel relieved by your presence and condolences. It’s my prayer that we all shall live longer than my father had lived”, Hon. Nwaobi prayed.
