The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Delta State, Hon. Emma Chinye, has announced the appointment of Apostle Abiodu Yero Akinbolade as Chaplain and Rev’d Gabriel Okpala as Assistant Chaplain of the Aniocha North Local Government Chapel.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, aims to strengthen the administration of the Local Government Chapel for effective propagation of God’s work among the council workforce.

Hon. Chinye made the announcement on Monday during the Council’s weekly fellowship at the Local Government Chapel, Issele-Uku.

He commended the Leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Aniocha North, and the Council’s workforce for their commitment to the chapel’s progress.

Addressing the newly appointed chaplains, and other assigned men of God in the Chapel, Hon. Chinye urged them to preach the word of God without bias, emphasizing the importance of delivering God’s message as mandated.

He also encouraged all levels of workers in the council to prioritize their commitment to God, stating that meaningful success can only be achieved with God’s guidance and direction.

Meanwhile, Hon. Chinye addressed the delay in February salary payments for council workers and primary school teachers.

He explained that the Federal Government directed Councils in all the States in Nigeria to open an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for direct payment of allocations as part of the requirements for the Local Government Autonomy.

The Executive Chairman further revealed that with the directives of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the 25 Local Governments in the State complied since November last year.

He maintained that because of delay from other states, the Federal Government, since February has not released the allocations to the various Councils which he noted delayed the payment of Salaries.

The Council boss however, appealed to the Council workforce and the Primary School workers to keep hope alive, assuring that the State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori has remained relentless in his resolve to ensure that the matter is resolved this week.
