The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 5, Issele-Asagba/Issele-Mkpitime in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, has passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. The party also endorsed the governor for a second term in 2027.
The vote of confidence was passed during a meeting of party leaders, executives, and stakeholders held at the ward Chairman’s House in Issele-Asagba.
It was attended by the former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Chief Kress Njiokwuemeni who led other notable leaders and stakeholders to the meeting presided over by the Chairman, Mr Obi Francis
Engr Fidel Onwodi moved the motion for the implicit Confidence Vote in the Governor and was seconded by Comrade Peter Okolie.
Hon. Chief Kress Njiokwuemeni who is the leader of the Party in the ward, had earlier called for a confidence vote on the Governor where he praised Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to the state’s governance.
Njiokwuemeni noted that the Governor has continued to earn the trust of the people, particularly in Aniocha North Local Government Area, through his administration’s MORE Agenda. He also commended the governor for carrying the party along in translating his agenda into action.
The governor’s achievements in providing people-oriented infrastructure and development across the three senatorial districts were also highlighted.
Njiokwuemeni on behalf of the Party in the ward thanked the governor for all that he has done for the people of Aniocha North Local Government Area, especially, the ongoing construction of the Issele-Asagba-Otulu road and appointing sons and daughters of the ward into his administration.
However, Njiokwuemeni appealed for more political appointments to be extended to persons in the ward who he noted contributed to the party’s victory in the 2023 general election.
“Our beloved Governor is working, the Party is working, and PDP will continue to be victorious,” Njiokwuemeni said. “His Excellency the Governor and PDP will win again in 2027 because he has continued to be committed to the people.”
He urged members of the party in the ward to remain committed to the Party, noting that loyalty, focus, patience and love for Party remains a determinant for reward in Party Politics.
“Though, we are going to continue to win in any election, but we are not going to take anything for granted. We are going to embark on Political evangelism, geared towards welcoming more people into our Party,” the former Majority Leader said.
The party, also passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye. Hon. Richard Anonyei had praised Chinye’s efforts in transforming his administration’s MORE GAINS mantra into action, benefiting the people of Aniocha North.
The motion was moved by Prince Phillip Uyanwanne Chukwuedo, seconded by Comrade Chuks Williams Ugbo and overwhelmingly adopted by the Party.
The party also agreed to remain united and work together as one indivisible family.
Reports from the 13 chapters of the party in the ward were received and it showed satisfactory progress.

This development demonstrates the party’s solidarity behind Governor Oborevwori’s leadership, similar to previous votes of confidence passed by Delta North PDP stakeholders and the Delta State PDP Caucus.
The meeting was a significant show of support for Governor Oborevwori’s administration, highlighting his achievements and the party’s commitment to his leadership.
The PDP Ward 5’s endorsement is a testimony of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to the people of Delta State and his administration’s MORE Agenda.
