The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Ward 18, Issele-Mkpitme, in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State, has passed a unanimous confidence vote in the State Governor, Rt. Hon, (Elder) Sheriff Frances Oborevwori.
This endorsement took place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, during an enlarged Executive and leaders’ meeting held at the Ward Chairman’s House in Issele-Mkpitme.
The motion, moved by Hon. Emeka Chiabua, Councillor Ward 18, Issele-Mkpitme, and seconded by Lady Patricia Nwaobi, was unanimously adopted. The party also endorsed Governor Oborevwori for a second tenure.
Hon.Chief Kress Njiokwuemeni, former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly and Leader of the Party in the ward, commended the governor’s commitment to proactive growth and development across the state in line with his MORE Agenda.
He urged party members to remain steadfast and loyal, pledging continued support for the governor’s More Agenda.
The party congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his numerous awards and honours, acknowledging his achievements within less than two years in office.
While appreciating the Governor for appointing some persons from the ward into his administration, the meeting also appealed to the amiable and workaholic Governor to do more by considering Hon Emmanuel Ofili Ikenwa, who they noted worked so hard and spent immensely to ensure the Party’s success in the ward during the 2023 General election, for appointment.
Prominent attendees included Ward Chairman, Mr. Martin Nwaozomue, Chief Sam Ngozi Olele, Hon. Emmanuel Ofili Ikenwa and Hon. Emeka Chiabua.
Also at the meeting were Mr. Julius Dibia, Chief Cynthia Udeh, Miss Blessed Ndu, Lady Ogboli, Chief Anthony Okoh, Mr Anthony Babundo, and Mrs. Ndidi Azu, amongst other leaders of the Party in the ward.
This development is the latest in a series of confidence votes passed in Governor Oborevwori’s favour, demonstrating the party’s solidarity behind his leadership.
