Aniocha North Council Boss, Hon Chinye Plays Host To Delta Waste Management Board, Reaffirms His Administration’s Commitment To Environmental Cleanliness

Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye has assured that environmental cleanliness of the Council area will continue to be a top priority of his administration in line with his vision to rebuild the Local Government Area.

Hon Chinye spoke on Friday, February 7, 2025 while playing host to the Executive Chairman of Delta State Waste Management Board, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, who led Members of the Board on a courtesy visit to him in his office at Issele-Uku, the administrative headquarters of the area.

He said his administration will do everything within its capacity to partner the State Waste Management Board in the management of waste in Aniocha North, assuring that he would do all it takes to maintain a steady relationship with the Board in that regard to the benefit of Ndi Aniocha North.

He said with the visit of the Board, the Local Government would start with its plans to bring in Private Sector Participation (PSP) in waste management in the Local Government Area, even as he maintained that with the collaborative efforts of the Board, the Local Government would surely get it right in its plans to involving private sector participation.

Hon Chinye appreciated the Executive Chairman and members of the Board for the visit, affirming that the Board has done a lot towards controlling indiscriminate dumping of refuse and the existence of illegal dumpsites which he noted were major problems militating against achieving a clean environment, especially in urban towns and cities of the State.

Hon Chinye who is a two time Executive Chairman of the Board, appreciated Hon Edema and members of the State Waste Management Board for striving to maintain the standard he set while on the saddle as Chairman of the Board. He assured them of all necessary support and collaboration of the Local Government towards achieving their mandate.

Earlier, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema commended the high level of environmental cleanliness of the Local Government Area

He noted that right from the entrance to Issele-Uku, the headquarters of the Local Government, to the Council premises down to the Executive Council Chamber, was a clear attestation of the fact that Hon Emma Chinye remains an epitome of environmental cleanliness and beauty.

“We are not surprised, because we know you have the capacity and the ability to do what you are doing in this Local Government Area in the area of Environmental cleanliness and beauty. Indeed what we smell here is refreshing,” Hon. Edama said.

He said that they have come to felicitate the Council boss and give their unwavering support for effective and proactive Private Sector Participation in waste Management, maintaining that the Board relied on the Executive Chairman to do the needful in involving PSP in the Management of waste, knowing full wall that he is grounded in that regard.

The waste Management Boss commended the synergy between the Executive Chairman and the Vice as well as other members of his cabinet, even as he commended him for all that he has been doing for the people of Aniocha North since his assumption of office.
