Senator Nwaoboshi’s Statement On Zoning Is Sowing Seed Of Discord Among Anioma People – Nnabudo Chinye

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, a chieftain of APC has been criticized for his statement on an existing zoning arrangement for Delta North Senator in 2027.

Senator Nwaoboshi recently in a statement declared that following an existing zoning arrangement, it is the turn of Ndokwa Nation to produce the next Delta North Senator in 2027.

But Nnabudo Chinye, also a renowned Chieftain of the APC in Delta State condemned the Distinguished Senator and said his assertion lacked clear parameters and explanation.

In a statement, Chief Nnabudo Chinye described Senator Nwaoboshi’s Statement as unwarranted, baseless and unnecessary, saying it was a way of sowing seed of discord among the People of Anioma in Delta State.

The Full Statement reads:

WHY SOW SEED OF DISCORD?

I recently read a press interview with Senator Nwaoboshi, and I must say I was surprised. As a former senator, lawyer, and seasoned politician, I expected more from him. His assertion that the senatorial position of Delta North is the turn of Ndokwa/Ukwani lacks clear parameters and explanation. I’d like to know if his conclusion is based on mathematical or political calculations.

Considering Senator Nwaoboshi’s experience as a two-term senator and his attempt at a third term, it’s puzzling that he’s suddenly concerned about whose turn it is in the three federal constituencies that make up Delta North. What sharing formula has been in place? Why did late Sen. Osakwe served three terms, and what was the sharing pattern used when Senator Dr. Okowa transitioned from senator to governor?

As a member of the opposition party in Delta State, I believe Senator Nwaoboshi should focus on party building and internal cohesion to position the party for success in the 2027 elections. The fact that the APC, which he is a member of, lacks representation in Delta North should be his primary concern, rather than making statements about senatorial position turns.

Is Senator Nwaoboshi speaking from a political or apolitical perspective? Either way, his statement is unwarranted, baseless, and unnecessary. As someone who has held distinguished offices, I expect more from him. His statement is sowing discord among the people of Anioma, and I wish he would refrain from making such inciting comments. Once a senator, always a senator – a distinguished title that should be upheld.
