Delta State Broadcasting Service Honours Elumelu With Excellence Public Service Award

The Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS) has honoured Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Ndudi Elumelu, OON, with the coveted Excellence Public Service Award for impactful service to Delta State and humanity.

Elumelu was presented with the award alongside other awardees drawn from different spheres of life during the third edition of the Delta Rainbow Television, DRTV, Warri Public Service Award held at the Governor’s Office annex, Warri on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Speaking at the event, Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Information Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza commended the State owned medium, the Delta Rainbow Television DRTV Warri, for recognizing Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu and the other awardees for their commitment and selfless service towards the society.

Governor Oborevwori stated that such recognition by the media was in line with his administration’s MORE Agenda and added that the honor would inspire the awardees to do more.

Presenting the Award, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Management of Delta State Broadcasting Service DBS Warri, the Board Chairman, Elegbete Moses Odibo said Hon Elumelu was being honored in recognition of his outstanding services and personal sacrifices towards human Empowerment and Community Development.

He said the Honour was to appreciate as well as project him as a role model to the present generation with a view to encouraging him to do more for the society.

In the same vein, the General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Warri, Pastor Malcolm Oteri said the DRTV Warri Public Service Award came into existence as a result of the rebranding mantra of the Station, even as he disclosed that individuals who have distinguished themselves in Public Service with a heart and love for the people in their various endeavors have also been recognized in the previous editions.

Elumelu was represented by Ms Gloria Oborevwori, who also received the award on his behalf.

However, in a statement on Friday, Elumelu appreciated the Board of Directors and Management of the Delta State Broadcasting Service DBS Warri for finding him worthy to be honored with the Public Service Award

He pledged to continue to commit his time and resources towards adding value to the Society and humanity as a whole.

The former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives said he would continue to dedicate such awards to the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the People of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

Elumelu maintained that the two leaders are epitomes of Excellence in Public Service and role models in good governance.
