Late Rev’d George Omolu Of Anioma Delta Baptist Conference Finally Laid To Rest In Emu-Unor.

The remains of late Rev George Omolu, has finally been laid to rest.

His body was laid to rest on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in his home town, Emu – Unor in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State at 1:26 pm after a funeral Service put together by the Anioma Delta Baptist Conference.

Late Rev George Omolu who was the Moderator of Bethel Baptist Association of the Anioma Delta Baptist Conference, transited to eternal glory on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the age of 47.

The President of Anioma Delta Baptist Conference, Rev’d Dr Dike Godspower Utih and the Conference Chairman, Rev’d Dr Monday Opone led the leadership of the Conference to Emu – Unor for the funeral ceremony.

It was attended by the immediate past Conference President, Rev’d Dr Paul Friday Anyasi and the wife.

Moderators of the various Associations, Pastors from the various Local Churches within the Anioma Delta Baptist Conference and their wives led by the wife of the Conference President, Dr Mrs Dike Utih, were also at the funeral.

Late Rev’d George Omolu is survived by his wife, five Children and many relatives.

In his homily at the funeral Service, Chairman, Anioma Delta Baptist Conference, Rev’d Dr Monday Opone, spoke on the necessity and blessedness of death, describing the death of a believer as Precious in the sight of God.

Reading from the book of Revelations Chapter 14, Dr. Opone maintained that death is inevitable and inescapable, saying that no one is exempted from death.

He also said that no one knows when, where and how he or she will die, explaining that late Rev’d George Omolu never knew that the 27th Day of October would be his last day on Earth.

“We don’t know the day we will die, we don’t know how we will die and we may not know where we will die.”

Rev’d Dr Opone said Death is not by any means the end of life, maintaining that there is life after death, and that blessed are the dead who died in the Lord.

“It is a blessing to die as a believer, to die as a saint, to die when working for the Lord God Almighty,” he said and encouraged the family to hold on to God for the fact that their Father and husband, Brother George Omolu lives on until the resurrection day when they would all meet again to part no more.

“As a very strong soldier for Christ, Rev’d George Omolu was one of the Pastors we looked up to, in the Anioma Delta Baptist Conference. He was a Man that was committed, he was a Man that was dedicated and was a Man that was ready to go the extra mile because of his love for the things of God,” Opone said.

The renowned Baptist Minister said Rev’d George Omolu made great sacrifices to serve the Lord, and that his death, though was very painful, but on the side of God, was gainful.

Dr. Opone in continuation of his sermon said that the death of a saint remains a blessing and gave reasons, even as he said that it triggers great joy in heaven and that the calling of a saint home by God is an opportunity for them to receive their reward by way of rest for their labour for “their good deeds followed them”.

He therefore restated that Rev’d George Omolu had fought a good fight, finished his race and now resting in the bossom of the Lord God Almighty.

While admonishing members of the Conference to use the opportunity of the funeral Service to reflect on their lives and ensure to work towards living a life pleasing to God as saints for “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of a Saint.”

Highpoint of the Funeral Service was special prayer for the family by Rev. Dr. Paul Anyasi and the interment, performed by the Conference President, Rev’d Dr Dike Godspower Utih.
