Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye has restated his administration’s commitment towards opening up earth roads linking various communities in the Council area.
He said the move was to ensure smooth and easy communication amongst the various communities.
Hon Emma Chinye spoke on Wednesday while playing host to Executives and members of Idumuje -Unor Patriotic Union who were in his office at Issele-Uku on a courtesy visit
He said once the rain subsides, the Local Government, as from November will move into the various communities to open earth roads not only in Idumuje-Unor, but in all the communities to ensure that people can easily move from one nearby community to the other.
The council boss commended His Royal Majesty, Obi Charles Anyasi 111 and the entire Idumuje -Unor people for their support and cooperation with his administration to ensure peace in the area.
Hon Chinye disclosed that tenders are being collected from prospective contractors towards execution of people oriented projects in all the communities in Aniocha North, saying that soon contracts for such projects would be awarded to successful bidders.
He further disclosed that the proposed Projects cuts across sectors that include Water Resources, Primary Health Care, Primary Education, Market and Road, even as he noted that apart from the Local Government’s intervening at the Idumuje-Unor Primary Health Care Center by way of taking full responsibility of payment of Salary of the NYSC Doctors at the center and the commencement of the opening up of some of the links roads by next month, the Council would soon conclude arrangements for the award of contract for the total rehabilitation and Extension of Nkwo Market, Idumuje -Unor as well as the rehabilitation of the Primary Health Care Center.
Earlier, in their address, presented by the President General, Idumuje-Unor Patriotic Union, Pastor Azu Nwaokolo, the Community appreciated the Executive Chairman for picking their Daughter, Hon. Clara Nneka Dibia as his vice and for giving her the platform to project Idumuje -Unor in his administration.
They also commended him for hitting the ground running in the realization of his vision of rebuilding Aniocha North.
“Remarkably, we have been following your government since after your Inauguration and your political sagacity has placed your government at a pedestal that has made you an administrative guru with proofs.
“Sir, you did not waste time after taking the mantle of Leadership, you hit the ground running with your development strides which has given, not just only the Local Government Secretariat, but the entire headquarters of the Local Government a face lift.
“Just coming in from the express into the Issele-Uku Town, one need not to be told that there is a new Sheriff in Town who is not only sagacious politically, but also an indefatigable seasoned administrator.
“Today you are undoubtedly on the right course and we as a community want to use this opportunity to pass a vote of Confidence in your effective grassroots governance as being demonstrated in the few months of your assumption of office,” the Community said
While assuring him of their continued solidarity and prayers for his commitment and service to the People of Aniocha North and Delta State in general, the community drew the attention of the Executive Chairman to some of the challenges facing them as a community.
The listed areas of attention include rehabilitation and expansion of their Market, rehabilitation of the Primary Health Care Center in the community, rehabilitation of the Nkwo Primary School and opening of link roads to neighbouring communities for easy communication.
With the Council Chairman to receive the Community on Courtesy call was the Vice Chairman, Hon. Clara Nneka Dibia, the Deputy Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Local Government, Hon Frank Iweke, the Councillor ward 9, Idumuje -Unor, Hon. Adem Okonkwor, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kennedy Okoh, Supervisors of the Local Government and the Head of Personnel Management of the Council, Mr Bertrand Ojeh amongst others.
