Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State have elected new officials of the Party in the area.
The election was conducted on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Congress of the Party held at the Party’s Secretariat, Issele-Uku.
Eighteen officials of the Party and One National Delegate were returned unopposed by members of the Party in the area at the Congress.
The election which was conducted by the Returning Officer for the election from Abuja, Mr. Victor Oforbrukueta was through affirmation upon a motion, unanimously seconded and adopted by delegates of the Party at the Congress.
The Local Government Area officials of the Party declared duly elected and returned by the Returning Officer, Mr Victor Oforbrukueta included, Dr. Charles Ochei; Chairman, Chief Ayo Momah; Vice Chairman, Hon. Samuel Osadobe; Secretary, Mr. Ebele Achi; Assistant Secretary and Mr. Paul Nwabah; Treasury.
Also declared duly returned was Mr Raymond Ogbechie; Financial Secretary, Mr. Stephen Nwachai; Publicity Secretary, Mr Uche Nwoko; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mr. Nnalio Michael Chizi; Organizing Secretary and Mrs. Uche Okoh; Woman Leader.
Mr. Kaikene Okolie, Mrs Tessy Obi and Mrs Stanley Uwaje were duly elected and returned Youth Leader, Auditor and Legal Adviser respectively.
While Mr. Peter Ashibuigwu, Mrs Margaret Monye, Mr Onyekeme Stephen, Mrs Dibia Rose Chinye and Madam Patricia Nwaobi were declared duly elected and returned Party Ex-Officio respectively.
The Returning Officer also declared Chief Nkem Okwuofu as the duly elected and Returned National Delegate of the Party in the Area having been unanimously affirmed by delegates at the Congress.
The election which was observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Electoral Officer in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Mr. Sabastine Obinor was strictly supervised and monitored by the Chairman of PDP LGA Congresses Electoral Committee from Abuja, Barr. Nusa Amagbor, and the Secretary; Barr. Oscar Osagiede.
Other members of the Electoral Committee from the PDP National headquarters in Abuja include; Uju Edochie, Abubakah Ahmad, and Mr Iteh Uboh.
They were together with two Electoral Assistants; John Adekole and Ogbe Ebubechukwu Chibugo.
The newly elected and returned officials of the Party were later inaugurated with a charge to work assiduously for the progress of the Party in Aniocha North.
Responding, the newly elected Chairman of the Party in the Area, Dr. Charles Ochei, on behalf of the newly Inaugurated officials, appreciated delegates at the Congress for finding them worthy and said that they would work towards taking the Party in the area to another level of glory.
He also appreciated the Chairman and members of the PDP Congresses Electoral Committee as well as the Returning Officer for the election, for a job well done.
