Measures Are Being Taken To Restore Banking Activities In Issele-Uku – Emma Chinye …Says Rehabilitation Work To Start On Issele-Uku Main Entrance Road, Construction Work On Issele-Uku Modern Market

Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government in Delta State, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye has said his administration has been working assiduously to ensure that banking activities are fully restored in Issele-Uku, the administrative headquarters of the Local Government Area.

Hon. Chinye spoke on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 while playing host to the Executives of Issele-Uku Development Union and Issele-Uku Traders Association who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Issele-Uku.

The Council boss said his major challenge since his assumption of duties as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government was on how to bring back United Bank For Africa, UBA, the only bank that has been in operation in the entire Area.

He lamented that for three years, residents have suffered untoward hardship as a result of the bank closing its operations in Issele-Uku after a series of security breaches.

Chinye however said that security measures are being put in place by his administration to ensure that the Bank resumes operations before the end of August, even as he said that in preparation for the resumpsion of banking operations, UBA through his prompting has employed on merit five indigenes of the area

While briefing the Community Development Union on the activities of his administration for the past 21 days, Hon Chinye apologized to shop owners and other persons that are being affected as a result of the security and environmental measures being put in place by his administration in Issele-Uku not minding that compensation is being paid.

He said the council has commenced in a vigorous manner the environmental cleaning and beautification of Issele-Uku to befit its status as an administrative headquarters of a local government area while revealing that directives have been given for Rehabilitation work to commence immediately on the main entrance road to Issele-Uku through the Issele-Uku city gate down to RainOil filling station at the Issele-Uku city centre, assuring that the highly deplorable axial road must be rehabilitated with speed breakers for safety of the people.

Hon Emma Chinye also intimated the Group that directives have been given for the beautification of the three entrance roads leading to Aniocha North in Onicha-Ugbo, Issele-Uku and Issele-Asagba and said his Administration since inception has taken bold measures to make in and outside the premises of the Local Government Council Secretariat clean and conducive for work.

The Council boss also revealed that arrangements have been in high gear for the Council to commence the rebuilding of Issele-Uku Main Market into an ultra modern main market and said the Local Government will be meeting with the traditional ruler of Issele-Uku, His Royal Majesty Agbogidi Obi Nduka, Obi of Issele-Uku with a view to discussing and mapping out strategies towards seamless relocation of traders in the Main Market to enable for immediate and efficient commencement of construction work.

Hon Chinye appreciated the visit by the Community Development Union, and commended the Issele-Uku Traders Association led by Comrade Chuks Ndiabua for their unwavering commitment in ensuring the cleanliness of the Market in Issele-Uku through their mandatory environmental sanitation exercise, separate from the Statewide Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.

He called on residents of the area to Join forces together with his administration to bring about a clean and conducive environment in the area, saying that cleanliness is next to godliness.

Earlier, the Chairman of Issele-Uku Development Union, Deacon Ifeanyi Mordi congratulated the Executive Chairman on his election and subsequent assumption of office.

He said they were in his office to commend and appreciate him for his proactiveness and doggedness in the implementation of his vision of rebuilding Aniocha North.

He also on behalf of the Union appreciated the Chairman for the appointment of two Sons of Issele-Uku as Supervisors of the Local Government.

While praying to God to empower him and his administration, Deacon Mordi pledged the support and cooperation of the community towards the laudable policies and actions of the Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye.

With the Chairman at the event was the vice Chairman, Hon. Clara Nneka Dibia, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Raphael Uzo, the Secretary designate to the Local Government, Hon. Kennedy Okoh, Supervisors of the Local Government and the Head of Personnel Management of the Council, Mr Bartend Ojeah amongst others.
