Aniocha North Newly Elected Councillors Inaugurated, Elects Leader, Deputy Leader, As Council Boss, Hon. Emma Chinye Proclaims The Legislative Arm

The 8th Legislative Assembly of the Aniocha North Local Government on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 was formally Inaugurated.

The Inauguration of the 8th Legislative Assembly was sequel to its proclamation by the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye who was accompanied to the Legislative Chamber by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Clara Nneka Dibia.

The Clerk of the Legislative Arm, Mrs Ufuoma Ogbudo who presided over proceedings later called for the nominations and election of the Leader and the Deputy Leader.

Hon. Uzo Raphael Babor, Councillor ward 12, Ubulubu and Ogodor, was elected Leader of the House.

His election to the position of Leader of the 8th Legislative Assembly was based on his nomination by Hon. Nkeabu Blessing Chinyere, Councillor ward 4, Onicha-Uku, seconded by Hon. Joel Chukwuka, Councillor ward 11, Ukwu-Nzu.

In the same vein, Hon Iweke Uzoma Frank, ward 8, Issele-Uku was nominated and elected Deputy Leader.

His election to the position of the Deputy Leader was upon his nomination by Hon Okpah Anyasi, Councillor ward 3 Obomkpa, seconded by Hon. Oseloke Okeleke, Councillor ward 20, Issele-Uku.

The Clerk thereafter administered the Oath of allegiance and Oath of Office on the newly elected Leader and the Deputy Leader respectively.

The Leader having taken over proceedings swore in all the elected Councillors and read a correspondence from the Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aniocha North announcing the appointment of Hon. Nkeabu Blessing Chinyere, Councillor ward 4, Onicha-Uku as the Majority Leader as well as other principal officers of the Legislative Arm.

The Inauguration of the House was witnessed by Some of the Leaders of the Local Government Area that includes; Chief Nkem Okwuofu, Chief Barrister Josephine Ada Kachikwu, the PDP Chairman in the area Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei, State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Dr. Daniel Odinigwe Odigie and Former Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Chief Dan Okenyi amongst others.
