Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship Candidate for Aniocha North Local Government Area, in the July 13 Council Election in Delta State, has restated his pledge to be loyal to the people of the area if elected as the Executive Chairman of the local government.
Hon. Chinye spoke on Sunday, June 16, 2024 when he was hosted to a rousing reception at Onicha-Olona town hall, Onicha-Olona, by his extended family members, Umu-Namakili family Association.
Chinye who was visibly elated at the event, maintained that as the next Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government by the grace and power of the people of the area, he would lead with humility, honesty, integrity and trust.
While appreciating his relatives, the Umu-Namakili family members for their overwhelming show of love towards him and his aspiration in the forthcoming Council election, Hon. Chinye equally thanked them for their massive financial supports and the donation of a Sienna Space Bus, to boost his campaign efforts.
He also assured that he wouldn’t fail them but will work assiduously with a view to making the extended family and the entire people of Aniocha North proud, even as he expressed his commitment to the collective, proactive and sincere implementation of his vision of Rebuilding Aniocha North through G.A.I.N.S, noting that the MORE Agenda of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, will ultimately be for the Gains of the entire people of Aniocha North when he eventually becomes the executive Chairman of the Local Government.
“My fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, I am really overwhelmed with your show of not just love but AGAPE LOVE towards me and my aspiration for the forthcoming council elections as the Executive Chairman of our dear Aniocha North LGA.
“I don’t really know the exact words one can use to describe this great gesture from a wonderful family like UMU AGU NAMAKILI AGBA.
“The zeal, speed and willingness of every one of our family in supporting this course has shown me it is a collective responsibility for all of us to ensure that we REBUILD OUR LGA with the M.O.R.E AGENDA for the G.A.I.N.S of NDI ANIOCHA NORTH, ONICHA OLONA, AGBA AND UMU NAMAKILI FAMILY.
“As the torch bearer, I promise to lead with all humility, honesty, integrity, trust and total loyalty to the good people of Ndi Aniocha North.
“My dear UMU-NAMAKILI AGU AGBA FAMILY, on behalf of my wife, children and my humble self, I wish to sincerely thank you all for all the monies, vehicle, efforts and prayers you have rendered towards my enthronement as the next Council Chairman of Aniocha North. God Almighty will replenish your sources a million fold in Jesus Name.
“Finally, I wish to thank in a special way, the leadership of UMU-NAMAKILI WORLDWIDE ably led by our Chairman, Cdr C.Jideonwor, our Deputy Chairman, Sir Okey Aligbe and other Executives. I also wish to acknowledge not only the cash gifts from my family that ran into millions, but the Sienna Space Bus donated by our dear brother, Val Ogeliegbune.
“I sincerely appreciate this show of love. I will not fail our family, I will not fail the people of Aniocha North; I promise to make us proud,” Hon. Emma Chinye assured.
Earlier in their address read on their behalf by Mr Okechukwu Aligbe, the Umu-Namakili family Association, Hon. Chinye’s extended family domiciled in Agba quarter of Onicha-Olona and Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area, said their existence has spanned through eight generations with tacit demonstration of oneness as well as unflinching support for individual and group causes in all spheres of life.
“It is in keeping with this age-old character that we are rising in support of the political aspiration of our brother, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye as he becomes the next Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”, the family stated.
The Family said they shared wholeheartedly with Emma Chinye’s Vision To Rebuild Aniocha North, and noted that the mantra is a tasking one that needs proactive and collective implementation, considering the stance of deficits and disrepair in the area.
The Family Association suggested areas of Governance for him to focus on, which they noted are in consonance with his G.A.I.N.S agenda.
The suggested areas of priorities, for the consideration of Hon. Emma Chinye include: security, environmental issues, primary health care, primary education, community development projects, youth re-orientation and development as well as skills acquisition programmes.
On security, the family urged the council chairmanship hopeful to work towards improved liaison with the Police, through a functional Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Issele-Uku and Onicha-Olona Divisions while seeing to the improvement in membership and standard of Community Vigilante Groups in the Local Government Area.
Also on security, the family advocated for the formation of a Joint-Task-Force through the selection of five personnel from each Community’s Vigilante Group, to checkmate the havoc on farmlands by Fulani Herdsmen, even as they urged him to also work towards the enactment of rules of engagement and schedules for regular training of the Joint Task-force, while also advocating the enactment of schedules for surveillance exercises, patrols, mobilization, drills, and response to emergencies by joint Police and Vigilante Teams.
On environmental issues, the Umu-Namakili family Association advised their beloved brother to engage in scheduled clearing of drainage channels and waste disposal with the creation of central dump sites in each of the communities, while enforcing monthly sanitation and ad-hoc clean-up exercises.
Refurbishment and maintenance of Primary Health Care Centres, scheduled visits by Doctors to Community Primary Health Care Centres, and engagement of Youth Corps members to augment shortages of Medical staff, were also some of the suggestions proffered in the Health sector for the chairmanship hopeful when elected as the Executive Chairman of Aniocha North in the coming Council elections in the State.
For Primary Education, they called on the PDP Chairmanship Candidate to also work with the NYSC, which has their permanent orientation camp in Issele-Uku, for the engagement of Youth Corp Members with a view to augmenting acute shortage of teachers in Primary Schools in the various communities in Aniocha North, even as they hinged on the need to work on improving the quality of teaching and learning in primary schools to ensure pupils being admitted into Secondary Schools can read and write.
It is also the sincere view of the Umu-Namakili family Association that Emma Chinye when Hon. Chinye becomes the Executive Chairman of the Aniocha North Local Government, he should enact a policy, under Community Development Projects, to address infrastructural deficits in Communities, rehabilitation of link roads, provision of facilities for water supply and building and rehabilitation of classrooms, beginning with the most critical cases, while ensuring that every Community is reached within his 3-year tenure.
“A casual look around, will reveal that a good percentage of our Youths have discovered ways of empowering themselves which, has resulted in immense funds lying idly in their hands, leading to impulsive spending. Your administration would be doing them a world of good by liaising with them, in conjunction with Investment Experts, to redirect their mindset away from Cars, Pleasure and Frivolities, into Skills and Economic Investments in Agriculture, Cottage Industry and Rent-yielding Apartments.
“The multiplier effect of these investments in the lives of their fellow Youths cannot be overemphasized,” the family Association suggested for the Youth Re-orientation & Development Sector.
“In addition, periodic skills acquisition programmes backed-up with handsome starter-packs, should be put in place, by your Office, for other Youths drawn from all the Communities in the Local Government, at least once a year,” Umu-Namakili further advocated in the area of skills acquisition.
While condemning the making of monetary demands from politicians by the electorates in return for their votes, the Family Association said the Umu-Namakili extraction have chosen to align themselves with the best practices of developed nations, where the electorate make willful donations, no matter how little, to help defray the campaign expenses of their candidates.
“Consequently, we have voluntarily given from our lean resources, strictly to support your aspirations, while not expecting any preferential treatment when you come into office. God willing, we shall continue to demonstrate this goodwill towards our other kit-and-kin in their chosen causes,” the association maintained
The Umu Namakali kith and kin then conveyed their goodwill messages and prayers from the elders of the family, even as the Association charged Hon. Emma Chinye to avoid the pitfalls and bane of Nigerian politics, which they summed up as greed, god-fatherism, corruption, and ethnicity.
“You must endeavor to let the fear of God rule your heart, in all you do. Learn to be content with your legitimate earnings and remain focused on the Vision to rebuild Aniocha North. The whole Local Government remains your lone Constituency, so we look forward to a fair and equitable development of all Ezechime, Odiani and Idumuje clans alike.
“Our fervent prayer is that public funds would be judiciously deployed under your watch and that when the time comes for you to choose between the interest of your Party Stalwarts and the common good of the masses, your priority shall tilt to the cause of the ordinary man.
“Kindly note that our interest in seeing you emerge as the next Chairman of our Local Government is equally matched by an enduring expectation of excellent performance, such as will make us proud of you, at the end of your tenure.
“As one needy of Divine help, we entrust you to the Power and Favour of the Almighty God. Go and succeed; in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen,“ the Family prayed.
Highpoint at the impressive event was the elderly blessing offered by the most elderly member and head of the family, Diokpa Indigo Aligbe.
Also present at the occasion, were Chief Ike Aligbe; the Obunze of Agba, Mr.Okey Aligbe; former President General, Onicha-Olona Development Union and Chairman PDP Ward 4 Onicha-Olona. Mr. Okolie Aninye.
