Hon. Emma Basim Chinye has formally been affirmed as the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Aniocha North Local Government Area, in the fourth coming Local Government election in Delta State.
Hon. Emma Chinye’s candidature as the PDP Flag-bearer to fly the Party’s flag in the Council election, was affirmed at the PDP Chairmanship Primary Election for the Local Government Area, held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Party’s Secretariat, in Issele-Uku.
The primary election which was conducted by officials of the Party from the State Headquarters, was observed by officials of the State Independent Electoral Commission, (DSIEC), security agencies as well as members of the media.
cshowcasenews.com reports that the adoption of Emma Chinye by the Party as their consensus candidate was sequel to a motion to that effect, moved by a member of the Party and former Council Chairman of Aniocha North LG, Hon. (Dr.) Jaunty Okwudi. It was seconded by Comrade Roy Umunna and was unanimously adopted as there were no counters to the motions.
Hon. Henry Omosuvie, the PDP designated returning officer for the primary election, subsequently declared Emma Basim Chinye as the duly elected Candidate of the Party, having been affirmed unanimously by all the delegates for the primary election.
Leaders and members of the Party in the area that participated in the primary election included, the former Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Benjamin Elue, the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, Chief Barrister Josephine Kachikwu, Dr Chuks Nwaegbuni and the Chairman of the Party in the area, Hon. Dr. Charles Ochei.
Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, Dr. Daniel Odinigwe Odigie, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Hon. Chief Krees Njiokwuemeni, Chief Dan Okenyi, Hon. Chief Cal Nwawolo, Ogbuefi Nnamdi Mohayem, Hon. Kevin Okwechime, Prince UZ Idabor, Chief Sam Olele, Engr. Fidel Onwodi, Hon. Sir Jossy Honnah and Hon. Paul Chukwuwike were also amongst the members of the party that participated actively in the Chairmanship primary election.
Highpoint of the primary election was the overwhelming endorsement and adoption of Hon. Emma Chinye as the sole candidate of the Party for the election by sixteen aspirants from the Party in Aniocha North.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Emma Chinye appreciated the leaders and members of the party for the unanimous endorsement of his candidate to fly the party’s flag in the July 13th Council election.
He appreciated the sixteen aspirants of the Party’s ticket for the Chairmanship election and said their show of solidarity, love and loyalty was uncommon.
While appreciating the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the immediate past Governor of the State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for their uncommon love for peace and development of Aniocha North, Hon. Chinye assured that he will work together with the entire membership of the Party for its overwhelming victory in the election, even as he pledged to work with the leaders, the aspirants and all members of the party in translating his vision of rebuilding Aniocha North into reality for the overall benefit of the people of the area.
Speaking at the end of the primary election, the former Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Benjamin Elue commended the atmosphere of Peace that pervaded throughout the period of the election and said members of the Party in the area has again demonstrated maturity and love for the part in assuring that a credible candidate is elected to fly the party’s flag in the election .
He urged all leaders and members to join forces together to ensure that PDP continues to maintain its victorious position in all wards during the fourth coming Council elections in Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the party in the area, Dr. Charles Ochei, commended the delegates for their maturity and peaceful disposition and said the primary election was to elect a candidate that will fly the Party’s flag in the Chairmanship election billed for July 13, 2024 in the State.
