Chief Press Secretary to Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon has acknowledged and lauded members of Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) for keeping faith with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
He described the Publishers excellent work of helping in informing and educating the good people of Delta State and beyond about the activities of the State government, particularly the administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, as invaluable public service.
Ahon who made the commendation during a media parley with Executive members of DOPF in Ughelli, Delta State on Saturday disclosed that the priority of Oborevwori’s government is centered on the provision of welfare for the wellbeing of the people of Delta state.
“We are also committed to other development initiatives in the state. You are aware that just recently; a contract was awarded to Julius Berger Construction Company worth N78bn to construct bridges, roads in Warri and its environs. These are some of the projects lined up to make life better and meaningful for the people of the state,” he stated.
He assured the publishers the support and cooperation of the Oborivwore administration towards carrying out their effective and sincere information dissemination and said all will be done to straighten the existing partnership between the Publishers and the State Government.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) Mr Emmanuel Enebeli extended the group’s heartfelt commendation to Sir Festus Ahon for his remarkable work as the Chief Press Secretary to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
He explained that Ahon’s dedication to his role and his relentless pursuit of excellence in the realm of inclusive public relations and prompt information accessibility deserves utmost appreciation.
“Let us all take a moment to applaud his exceptional service to the people of Delta State, especially in the promotion and sustaining of the drive to fulfill the M.O.R.E agenda of His Excellency,” he stated.
Enebeli who said it was essential to highlight the need for an improved and more cooperative relationship between the Delta State Government and the Delta Online Publishers Forum pointed out that DOPF plays a vital role in disseminating information to the masses by providing a platform for open dialogue and helping to hold the government accountable to its promises.
According to him, “One of the key areas where we believe this collaboration can be strengthened is in advert placement on the websites of DOPF members. By increasing patronage of advertising on these websites, the government besides enjoying the benefit of reaching people with information about its policies and programmes, thereby carrying them along, will be helping the forum to continue its important work of providing credible news and information to the public.
“This not only supports responsible journalism, but it also benefits local businesses and entrepreneurs by increasing their visibility and most importantly provides the government with a wider, more expansive scope, especially in this digital era where online platforms have become the veritable first preference for information sourcing and consumption, for thousands of Indigenes and citizens who traffic extensively round the clock, across these news portals, through their Smartphones.
