Issele-Mkpitime Gets New Obi, HRM, Sunday Ubaka Ogboli

It was joy unspeakable on Monday, August 7, 2023 for the people of Issele-Mkpitime, in Aniocha North Local Government Area, Delta State as a new traditional king was traditionally installed.

He is HRM, Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, Obi of Issele-Mkpitime.

The coronation of the octogenarian as the Monarch of Issele-Mkpitime was sequel to the conclusion of all native rites, in accordance with the tradition and culture of the people of Issele-Mkpitime.

Obi Sunday Ubaka, took over from HRM, Obi Boniface Izuogbei who ruled the agrarian community until his transition about two years ago.

The colourful traditional event was attended by Sons and Daughters of the Community and was witnessed by a High powered delegation from the Obi of Issele-Uku, His Royal Majesty, Obi Agbogidi Nduka, Obi of Issele-Uku.

In a chat with cshowcasenew.com, the President General, Issele-Mkpitime Federal Union, IMFU, Prince Oge Okwuka expressed joy over the coronation of the new Obi and affirmed that a new chapter has been opened in the annals of Issele-Mkpitime.

Okwuka described Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli as a man of impeccable character and an epitome of tradition and culture, noting that his global experience as a London trained administrator, a retired management staff of the Nigerian Ports Authority, coupled with his vast knowledge of the culture and tradition of the people of Issele-Mkpitime, will definitely be of added advantage to his reign.

He commended the success of the processes to his installation and said, though it took long period, but at the end, the tradition and culture of the people of Issele-Mkpitime has been fully met, even as he predicted a more peaceful and prosperous Issele-Mkpitime during his reign as the monarch of the Community.

While praying to God to give the king good health and long life to superintend the affairs of the Community, the PG assured the readiness of the IMFU to commence in earnest the next process towards the formal presentation of staff of office to the king by the Delta State Government.
