Enebeli Challenges Pharmacists To Develop Resources For Pharmacare And Medicare’s
The Chairman, New Heights Pharma Limited, Pharm. Paul Osogbe Enebeli, FPSN, FNAPHARM, PHF, has challenged Pharmacists to as a matter of urgency, embark on research and development of Nigeria’s rich traditional resources for pharmacare and herbal medicare.
Enebeli made the call on Thursday in a keynote address that he delivered at the induction of the 12th set of trained Pharmacists at the Delta State University, Abraka.
According to him, “there is an urgent need for research and development of our rich traditional resources for Pharmacare and herbal Medicare,” asserting, “The role of pharmacist is pivotal in health insurance delivery.
“There is need for pharmaceutical training to focus on hands-on practical experience on the production of specific pharmaceutical products.
“This, going forward promotes self sufficiency in the country and strengthen medical supply proficiency in our health systems as well as improve our Gross Domestic Product (GDP); so, to address the growing demand and care gaps, a strong emphasis on pharmacist education and training is vital (certifications).
“As technology develops, it is crucial that pharmacists receive training on the most recent digital trends to increase their professional confidence and trust in providing patient care.
“It is also, very important that government plays its role in the development of robust process industry to enhance availability of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s) for the pharmaceutical industries.”
Enebeli, former Chairman, Board of Fellows, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, congratulated the inductees, stating, “I am aware of the time and effort you have invested to earn this success; ‘may your days be many and your troubles be few; may all God’s blessings descend upon you; may peace be within you; may your heart be strong and may you find what you are seeking wherever you roam.”
In a post on his verified Facebook page, the Vice Chancellor, DELSU, Prof. Andy Egwuyenga, wrote, “INDUCTION OF 12TH SET OF DELSU TRAINED PHARMACISTS. 78 newly qualified Pharmacists were yesterday, 10th May formally inducted by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, PSN.
“They subscribed to the oath of allegiance and code of practice of the noble profession of Pharmacy.
“Pharm. Paul Enebeli, in his Keynote Address counseled the young professionals on the prospects and challenges of the practice Pharmacy.
“I congratulated the inductees and urged them to remain good ambassadors of Delta State University, and regard their induction as a call to excellence, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.”
