Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate for the 2023 general election and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has said that his vision was to build the State ahead of others in terms of development in Nigeria.
Also, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PDP Senatorial Candidate, Delta Central District, Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency and Olorogun Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata, PDP Delta State House of Assembly Candidate, Uvwie Constituency, tasked members of the party in Uvwie to give all PDP candidates highest votes since the governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori was maternally related to the Uvwie kingdom.
The candidates, who made this known on Thursday, November 17th, 2022, during the Delta State Campaign Council ward-to-ward campaigns to Uvwie Local Government Area Wards 8, 9, 10, 6, and 5 said that they were in the Wards to solicit for their votes and on a need assessment.
Speaking during the campaign visit to the five wards, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice-President respectively, would turn around the economy which had been grounded by the APC-led administration.
He noted that the value of the Naira has grossly depreciated, saying that the APC-led administration had brought insecurity, hardship, and poverty, as such, should be kicked out next year.
He urged the Uvwie people to vote Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, saying he had worked tirelessly through the DC-23 to ensure that the Governorship seat came to Delta Central District; vote Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq., for House of Representatives, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency because she is eloquent, vibrant, and experienced; Hon. Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata for Delta State House of Assembly, Uvwie Constituency to enable him to use his wealth of experience to develop Uvwie.
The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate also appealed to the people to vote for him and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme as their M.O.R.E. Agenda would bring meaningful development, opportunities for all, realistic reforms, and enhanced peace and security, saying it was geared towards placing Delta State ahead of other States in the Country.
On his part, the PDP Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ighoyota Amori, commended the people of Uvwie for the massive turnout as it showed their readiness to vote for PDP candidates in 2023.

He noted that Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie and Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituencies had both represented Urhobo at different times in the Senate, “so I urge all of you to vote for me for the Senate, come 2023.”
Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro Esq, PDP House of Representatives Candidate, Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, said Nigeria was a better Country when PDP was in power.
“Prices of foodstuffs and other products were commensurate; fuel price was less than =N=100; a dollar was less than N200; the economy was booming and rated one of the best in Africa.
“But today, APC has destroyed Nigeria in less than eight years by the Federal Government with failed economic policies. Fuel is now about =N=250 per liter; a bag of local rice is now =N=55,000; a Dollar is now over =N=800 in the black market.
“Insecurity is currently bedeviling the Country as we can no longer sleep with our eyes closed, nor travel by the roads. People are being killed and kidnapped with impunity,” she stated.
She appealed to the people on the need to vote for her for House of Representatives, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice-President respectively, and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Sir. Monday Onyeme as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively, Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Delta Central District, and Olorogun Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata for Delta State House of Assembly, Uvwie Constituency.

According to her, “as the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori did not only usher in peaceful legislation, but brought the harmonious working relationship between the legislature and the executive.
“This is the first time God has given us the opportunity to have a Governor from Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency. So, we will do all we can to ensure that Rt. Hon. Oborevwori comes out victorious in the forthcoming Governorship election in the State.”
