Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission and a notable leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, has applauded the Supreme Court verdict affirming Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the Party’s duly elected Governorship Candidate, describing it as victory for the party in the State.
Okwuofu in a statement on Friday, October 21, said that the ruling has affirmed the will and wishes of the party in the State, adding that with the verdict, another opportunity has been given to all members of the party in Delta, to put their differences aside and come together as one indivisible family towards working for the overwhelming victory of the party in the state, in the forthcoming general elections.
Okwuofu stressed that by approaching the various courts, from the lower to the highest court in the land, vista has been given for all aggrieved members of the party to ventilate their grievances which, she noted, was within their constitutional rights, even as she opined that now that judgment has been given, the aggrieved should embrace love of Party, accept the ruling in good faith and show unalloyed commitment towards charting a new course for unity and progress of the PDP, Delta State.
While congratulating Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP for the victory, Okwuofu also celebrated Chief David Edevie and called on him to galvanize all his system as a beloved leader of the Party in the state, towards enduring unity and progress of the party.
Okwuofu in the same vein, appreciated the Governor of the State and the Vice-presidential Candidate of the Party for the 2023 elections, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his leadership role and said that his commitment for peace and unity of the party, has remained uncommon, maintaining that the Governor’s disposition has in no small measure strengthened the resolve of members, even at the most difficult times.
The renowned Political leader, said that with the Supreme Court Verdict, it becomes pertinent for all genuine lovers of the PDP in the state to work for the total delivery of the Party’s Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, the Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Vice-Presidential Candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as all candidates of the party for the National and State Assemblies.
“The Supreme Court Verdict is a victory for all members of the PDP in our dear State. No member of the party is vanquished as a result of the ruling. All that was done was for the overall interest of the Party and as genuine members of the party; all should take it as the will of God and the wish of the Party.
“With the Judgment, I urge all leaders and members in the 25 local Government areas of our dear State, to put aside their differences and come together with the utmost interest of the party, geared towards the common goal of overwhelming victory for our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, and the Vice-Presidential Candidate, our beloved Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, our Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as all our National and State Assembly candidates, in the forthcoming general elections.
